Suddenly, unexpectedly game is not ready for lunch anymore.... WHY?, because? well because reasons. Tell me how is this possible? Are all the game developers ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥? Are all the game directors stupid? Cant they even tell when a game is ready or not? How could you ♥♥♥♥ up this bad and nothing happens? Was he fired? Was the responsible for the delay fired?.

Hows about you try to do something simple, like, build a Birds House, just a rectangle and whatnot, you meassure every step that you have to make and estimate how long it´s gonna take you, and then you ACTUALLY DO IT.

And then tell us how well your meticulous plan worked.

The thing is...
Unexpected errors happen, expected errors happen, but they might take longer than you thought to fix. Something outside of your project could happen.
Sickness, Financial crap, real life misfunction of any sort of any device or isntallation.

You cannot account for everything.
The 1 year delay was because of an more or less "unprecedented" (even tho there was the Spanish Flu for example) case of an unexpected dampener on productivity worldwide.

This one is literally just two months, very well within expectable and acceptable ranges for a huge Project like the development of a game.

Let me tell you, it has been DECADES since i last planned to do something, and by when i will have finished.

Because, that ♥♥♥♥ never works, deadlines DO. NOT. WORK.
Appointments do work because they work the other way around.
Craftsmen, fixing your clogged toilet will work until the time is up and then come back the next day to finish it, for this exact reason. You can plan for time, you cannot plan for something being done in a certain amount of time, not as reliably anyways.

Ok bud, you seem to be an expert on game development, walk into a game dev studio, look at their game, look at what the plan is going to be for the game, look at what kind of team they have, and then predict the exact amount of time they require to get everything that they not only currently have planned for the game, but also any future ideas that they might want to implement. Go on Mr incredible, use your super power to see into the future. No, it's not that simple, you're not smart for raging and oversimplifying things.

Anything can happen during the development process, new ideas, new issues that have to be tackled, implementing already planned ideas taking longer than expected, issues with hardware, data loss, natural disasters, etc etc, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ANYTHING could happen, and yet you're here, full tunnel vision, focused on one single possibility, completely convinced that there could be no other reason for any of this other than "the devs are out to ♥♥♥♥ with me and my pals >:^(", you clearly lack any real understanding of game development let alone development of any kind. I mean sure I would like to know exactly the reasons why they delayed it, but there are probably hundreds, if not thousands, of different reasons. Frankly, it really isn't our business to know. What we don't like about your responses is that you are:

1: being a complete butthole who really needs a chill pill

2: Just assuming the worst with no evidence and screaming at people who disagree, calling them idiots and telling them to "open your ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ eyes". You can assume the worst, but don't act like a butthole with a superiority complex.

If the game was ready when the trailers and promotional material was out, then they would have released it then. You do know what a release date is right? Game devs don't finish a game, release trailers, then release an arbitrary date for when they will release the game. A release date is a prediction on when the game will be ready. Trailers and gameplay are supposed to get people hyped and excited for the game. They are also, in some situations, supposed to get feedback. If people hate a trailer, the devs still have time to fix what people hate.

I don't care if they have a working cosmetics shop, as long as the rest of the game works.

Why the hate for console "gaymers"? Why the hate for them? Who hurt you?

Darktide being Xbox exclusive is already pretty much "hate of console gamers", but they clearly signed some deal with Microsoft so it was pretty much expected to happen.
Some crazy people still await PS5 reveal, out of sheer optimism and pink glasses.

As for the fact console version will be late... you ever seen Vermintide? console always gets updates several months after the PC update, I'm honestly not surprised Xbox doesn't get a release date.

Yes, you bet, you guess you make up things in your head, none of these are facts, these are mere assumptions you're making up to rile yourself up. Also when i said that you ignored everything that was said to you, I was referring to what me and Iron_Side said. There could be any amount of reasons for the delays, what are you expecting some kinda documentary about each one? It could be as simple as them underestimating how hard certain things would be to implement. You can rage and rave about how you were right all along, IF the game comes out in the state you're describing, until then you're imagining up dragons for yourself to slay.

As for you ranting about release dates only existing for the purpose of making money, i disagree, it's more than likely a part of the reason why release dates get announced, to build up hype in order to boost sales, but that isn't necessarily for the sole purpose of making money, it can also come from a place of passion, wanting as many people to hear about your game while providing what you believe to be a good product to them.

I'm not the one who needs to open my eyes here, bud, yes the game wasn't ready WHEN they announced the release date, no ♥♥♥♥ Sherlock, they estimate when they believe it WILL be ready, that's the whole point, did that completely go over your head? You said you're not an expert on game development, and you've given more than enough reasons why you not only aren't a game dev, but will never be one by the looks of it, because you seemingly don't understand that GAMES COST MONEY TO MAKE, obviously there is going to be some focus on monetization, but not every single thing is done for the purpose of monetization, not every single thing is "lol we are secretly conspiring against the customer hee hee haa haa i love twirling my mustache and laughing menacingly".


There are tons of awful business practices in the gaming market nowadays that blatantly screw over the customer for the purpose of making as much money as possible, delays have been a thing FOREVER, not just in the gaming market but pretty much anything and everything, if an estimate is ever made, there is a chance that it will be wrong, thus the existence of the delay. Release dates and delays are the least of the gaming community's worries, especially with the still recent corona pandemic having happened. Chill. Out.

I remember people having problems playing GTA Online between PS players, how do you expect cross play to even happen if the Service is so notoriously bad, and has always been as far as i know, not sure if it still is.

1: Lesson learned, DON'T PRE ORDER. You should have accepted the fact that it could have been delayed.

2: Get a freaking refund. If you don't know how, TAKE 5 SECONDS TO LOOK IT UP FOR GOODNESS SAKE! BE A RESPONSIBLE ADULT BEFORE RAGING LIKE A 12 YEAR OLD IN THE COMMENTS!

3: Yes, customers do have rights, take some time to look them up. You don't have a right to an accurate release date.

4: Miscalculating a release date isn't lazy. Why do you assume the worst?

5: Why the freak are you so mad? Sure it has been delayed twice, but game development is a hellish gig. Strict hours, lots of overtime, pressure from jerks like you, it is really hard. So please, by all means get mad if they screw up the game, but be patient for goodness sake.

6: Tell your friends to get off their butts and get a freaking refund. If they don't know how to do it, TELL THEM TO LOOK IT UP.

I like to see that everyone says "no stress" "take ur time". But this is the third time they delayed the game and if it is going to be a flaw they will shatter so much souls XD
