after lore lasgun have recoil. becaus most guardsmen are enlisted from world that mostly use autoguns. so they expect guns to have recoil. so lasgun come build in with a recoil simlulator. it in lore

Just pretend due to poor construction and poorly maintained magazines your lasgun has recoil because it is constantly malfunctioning.

The reason lasguns have recoil is because the laser combusts the air when it leaves the barrel. The whip-crack sound you hear when a lasgun fires is made because of this. The amount of recoil varies depending on where the lasgun was made and how high the power setting is.

Low power settings tend to be less noisy, have less recoil, do less damage, and can allow a lasgun to fire off dozens (sometimes hundreds) of shots. Turning the power setting up can fry the entire entire power pack in one shot, is loud, and has more recoil as more air explodes around the beam. But, this same shot can punch through concrete and sever limbs.

The laser recon rifle has virtually zero recoil. I love it esp when you use it with ur ability. It's shreds.

I personally love the laser rifle. I love hearing the crackle when i fire it. Deeply satisfying.

I remember reading years back in a rogue trader that lasguns have a spinning coil inside of them that spin with each firing, and its that spinning coil that causes the recoil, but that may not be the lore anymore cause they say anything in old rogue traders
