It's funny cause I swore off Trauma staff long before the skill tree rework. After the rework I picked up one with Rending Shockwave and Warp Flurry and it's probably my current favorite. Does really good work knocking around entire groups of Ragers/Maulers/Crushers/Bulwarks while applying Brittleness to them, and also general horde softening/clearing. Plus a good way to disable any stray enemies bothering teammates.
Purgatus melts almost everything but has limited range.
Surge stuns its target but is weak against hordes. (ignoring the fact that it's bugged)
Trauma has great stagger and control but is awkward to aim.
Voidstrike is a great all-rounder and (I find) easier to use.
How do you build for trauma? Blessings? I tried having a go at it but it felt like I was being more nuisance than help, knocking everything around.
Good comment.
But the the surge staff isnt bugged anymore. Did 2-3 games today and it works fine. I play it with warp siphon.

I played 3 games with surge staff today. Guess the weird bug is fixed. With warp siphon it works very well.
lol no
This hasn't been a thing since the "class update" and with +crit and +soulfire the voidstrike doesn't have a competitor, period.
