Hrm probably the upcoming spacemarine 2 game has the closest thing?
Idk its just a weird concept to me but maybe thats because if not for coop i would die of Boredome in these games be it vermintide or darktide. The teamwork and cheering each other on in a cluch situation is what makes these games for me.
Edit: Sidenote i also don't understand this for people who do that sort of things in MMOs. Some genres are inherently designed for Multiplayer so the idea that solo players feel entitled to changing the game to fit their needs is odd to me. I would just not buy a game if i know it doesnt fit my taste.
Also if it was promised at release then i understand^^
Anything that try to appeal to everyone is always terrible, and most people acknowledge this, yet everyone wants to be catered to specifically.
There could be an FPS game uniquely designed for specifically Old age pensioners that like Starwars, and every Starwars fan would complain how they have been left out, and it should of been a hypercompetitive RTS MMO Aquaman game!
So is that they are initially designed with and focused on multiplayer. I would get these complaints if finding a mage takes ages do to low player count but matchmaking is litteraly almost instant any time of the day.
You do not understand, a solo mode in coop shooters is an UNIVERSAL STANDARD and should NOT be mutually exclusive with the game being focused on multiplayer
I blame myself for believing anything a publisher says pre-launch though.
Edit: To establish my point, how would you feel if you were told "Yes! You CAN play with online matchmaking" but the feature was never released it was solo w/ bots or private lobbies with friends only. When you said "This game is so boring with bots, I want to be able to play with randoms!" Everyone told you "I don't understand why anyone would want to play with randoms, it's WAY more fun to play with bots/friends!" but you know that you don't have fun playing with bots. It's the same thing for us, I've tried quick play in every iteration of horde shooters and I hated every second of it, I never finished a map and thought "that was so much more fun than playing with bots!" I only thought "I don't know what I was expecting, but that was horrible." Why force me to play with randoms when every other iteration of horde shooter has allowed me to play with bots with no issues.
I understand that for casuals, it is hard idea to grasp.
2)Vermintide 2 had the option of solo play.
3)Not everyone realizes this is going to be a co-op only game when they buy it.
4)Its a terrible business decision to make it a co-op only game with no bot support because if the playerbase drops below a certain threshold, now its unplayable because you can't find matches.
