Quick PSA on scanning objectives - The ones with the servo skulls
This is directed to those who are new, like me, but who haven't googled how to do this.

Now if anyone with more experience than my noob ass has any corrections, please post them so I can add them.

Now, you know when you have to deploy that servo skull, follow it around, and then it stops and sends out scan pulses? Well, that enables your Auspex Scanner, which is the "4" key (on my steam deck custom controls I have to double tap, you may have to do that too). Holding your right mouse button (I think, I've only used a deck) or left trigger on controller activates it. Then just follow the blue dots and increasingly rapid beeping to the target before left clicking/right triggering on the highlighted object.

Just make sure you aren't being meleed while doing this as you're pretty defenseless while the Auspex is out. Best to have someone covering you.

Why am I making this post? Because I've noticed most of the new people I've been playing with, like me, haven't yet googled how to do this objective. I'm just trying to spread the knowledge around. I'm sure it's in a guide, but I think a decent portion are going to come to the forums first. I know I use to.

not everyone that doesn't scan doesn't know how to do it.

some people that either want to speed run the map, or are still farming the penance for scans, will do it RELIGIOUSLY even if it means taking damage.

some others will never scan even if it doubles the length of the fight. possibly because they know it means taking damage? or just can't be bothered?

coop games bring out a wide array of strange and uncooperative behaviours.

also depends on the team makeup and your current role.

When Im forced to CC, I no longer scan, i stick to the scanner and keep him./her clear or the spawn point.

Do them FAST = Less Damage, because less enemies to fight.

And that's why this newbie deserves praise!

Yes, hold right click when you have the scanner equipped (4), the scanner in your hand will show blips. You want to approach the blip until the object glows green, then press left click.
