Warhammer 40k Lore really stupid?

I love warhammer, but the lore is so stupid. I can read it or watch some lore video, but it's so stupid. Like it's just very violent, and hearing most factions keep people from dying and using their as weapons is the pinnacle of edgy. Fantasy is my favorite, but it's not much better.

Yes, it's grimdark. That word was coined to describe 40k, and comes from the intro to the novels and codices.

It is very stupid, but that's part of the charm and very much the point of it.

its incredibly simplistic but it is a table top game about war... I don't think they were going for in depth story telling at the beginning.

No one will argue that it "makes sense" on the grounds of their decisions being intelligent or right. The appeal is partially how ridiculous everything is and partially what you do in the face of such ridiculousness.

To their credit, I believe a commonly acknowledged meme is that no 40K fan would actually want to visit the 40K universe in person.
