rocking the "it's my team's fault i'm not doing perfectly" combo also tends to make everyone suspect you blow nuts.
Also the charge up, while minimal, does make it a bit awkward to target moving enemies.
Don't get me wrong - it's a fantastic weapon and I love it; but depending on situation I've seen other veterans outperform me.
As for the power sword I wouldn't know as I like the "wrrrmmmm" of the chainsaw.
The plasma gun is slow firing, it can't be used reliably to take out lots of enemy shooters. The Powersword is good, but it can come unstuck also if you don't get a chance to charge it.
I rarely run the Plasma Gun or Powersword and I play on Auric Damnation mostly and don't gimp my team. I tend to run Agripinna Braced Auto + Rashad Combat Axe or Zarona Reolver + Tac Axe IV or Boltgun + Mk IV Chainsword as my 3 most common loadouts.
Can't be that fun. Can't enjoy many games.
See what I'm getting at? The reason is called variety, challenge, adaptability. The things that grow your skillset into an actual asset for your team instead of a monkeigh with one good boomstikk
Grow as a player, experience the game in new ways, learn new things, do memes; this should be the mandate of anyone who would deign call themselves a gamer.
But it won't, because people like easy. people like convenience. People are lazy troglodytes
in term of efficiency there is no better weapon period.
Autoguns are kinda the same deal but dont deal with armored ogrins.
if u wanna chalange yourself try any lasguns, hellbore, headhunter rifles and go full sharpshooter tree.
revolver is also op as hell.
if it comes to melee its up to you, yes power sword can ditch out some good damage and slice everything but at cost of none existing dodge distance
Ranged, it really depends on what role you want. Revolver does basically exactly what plasma does but with slightly less downtime on a reload build, but with less ammo. Much higher headshot potential also. Columnus MkV and AG1 are both amazing all round ranged weapons. Same with Infantry MkIV and the AG Braced. Helbore 1 and 2 both melt anything you shoot if you're looking for a more 'ranged only' style, as their stab is basically an efficient melee weapon in its own right.
Really, most of veterans kit is so versatile you can build for basically anything you have access to and do well. This is coming from a level 500/800 hour vet main. Try more things, theyre better or worse at different things. Thats the beauty of it. If you want more shooter control, try an autogun. If you want something different for elite/special killing, try knife revolver.
Power Sword is just overpowered. If you have a well rolled Power Sword there's not really much reason to use anything else except that the Power Sword is a boring weapon to use.
Columnus and Agra actually have better ttk on anything but Bulwarks Crushes and Monstrosities in mixed groups. The gun is slow.
The auto gun kills everything, you just have to aim at crushers head or hit them in the back. The chain axe eats though everything if enemies get close.
Auric damnation is what I test these weapons on.
As for Power Sword, that's not even in the same bracket as plasma. Power Swords are strong sure, but since they require that special activation overhead, they're just far too slow for more agile builds. They also absolutely suck for defense. I much prefer shovels myself.
