"Make every shot count" penance bugged?

I'm playing on Heresy, running a shotgun. I make sure I only shoot if I can't miss. After emptying the ammo I switch to melee and use melee only. Of course I try not to miss in melee too.

I did this for 3 missions now and couldn't get the achievement. How did you get this achievement?

Use a Revolver with no Scavenger aura, If you were using the shotgun with the Slug Special that should of worked as well but it may be bugged for that weapon or not count with special rounds.

Wait for Things like Tox Flamers/Regular Flamers and most slower specials to appear and One-Tap them and mag dump on larger specials like the Crushers.

Getting a Plague Orgyn boss is probably the best case since its slow and you can avoid hitting the head to dump ammo faster.

You're allowed 3-4 misses with a revolver with a 54 round reserve if i'm not mistaken.

if you do the no melee hit penance next, Exploding barrels count as melee damage unfortunately.

revolver or plasma (i did it with plasma, easy dumping with charged shots into horde)
no survivalist aura in party (preferably)

best mission is assasination where you can dump the leftovers of your ammo into the boss and his shields

did this penance last week and can confirm that you can still get it even with the ammo regen aura.

did it with the revolver and kept dumping ammo into hordes and once its completely empty i just didnt switch back to it for the rest of the mission and completed the penance

also not 100% sure about this but if you kill more than 1 enemy per shot that gives u more than 100% accuracy cause i definitely missed more than 5 shots and still got it

It's bugged. Is it impossible? No. But it is bugged, I have checked my accuracy and made sure I had no ammo remaining at the end. No achievement.

"BUT I GOT IT WHEN I-" No. It's bugged. Just because it still works sometimes does not mean it's not bugged and it's so often reported that people meet the requirements and don't get the achievement that there is obviously something wrong with it. It's super picky about what counts as "no ammo remaining" and certain weapons it does not like. It's such a finicky achievement and utterly dumb to have in a game with no single-player.

Most people who tried this penance have told me shotgun seems difficult for this. Was able to do it with a revolver first try recently, despite having ammo regen, so I think it's a solid choice.

I tried so many runs now. Before using the shotgun I tried a revolver but still didn't get it...

Take a Bolter and do the twins mission. Just dump all your ammo into the shield and enjoy your new helmet

Some, if not all, shotguns seem to be buggy with make every shot count as of updates in the past few months. It is possible that shotgun spread patterns can cause a hit not to count if enough/any of the pellets do not connect. Or they are just Fatshark'd for now.

Revolver or possibly plasma gun might be your next best bet. Do not take Scavenger talent or pick up ammo after you run out (although this previously did not interfere with the achievement so long as you did not swap to ranged after running out of ammo the first time).

Also, make sure you do not shoot teammates or shields on an Orgyn (anything that procs the blue hit marker that indicates no damage). Firing into hordes or at bosses who are not low health are probably your two best targets. It is possible that ping/server issues can lead to your shots not being credited if someone else is aiming at your targets and killing them first even though you get in-game feedback telling you the shot connected. This is why aiming for specials is a bad idea with randos. Check the killfeed to see if you are getting credit for killing what you shoot at or just stick to hordes/bosses.

I would also make sure your ranged weapon does not proc bleed, fire or any other type of damage following your shot to avoid that messing with the accuracy counter although this is unlikely to be the case.

As another safety precaution, you could refrain from using grenades on the off-chance that they are messing with the stat tracking for ranged hits although this was not a factor for people I played with last month working on that penance.

I did it with plasma gun. Also missed 2 shots. Its still 90% + accuracy if u kill enough enemies

did (cheesed) the penance last WE:
- i first tried to do it legit way with shotgun. no success
on my last try legit + shotgun i make sure every shot landed and with 0 ammo left, the penance didn't complete
- then i tried cheesing with shtogun + /retry (mod) on end (the strat is play normaly, then near end of mission, unload your weapon and keep only one shell, either alt+f4 and rejoin the game or use retry mod to do it faster
it wasn't a success either, i try this strat 5 times unsuccessful.
i ended up with the strat above but with plasma + /retry and it worked. :D

my guess is with a shotgun, every pellets count.
for example if one shell contain 10 pellets. if only 8 of them hits, you are at 80% accuracy, so not enought.

I never understand why ppl even try accuracy challanges with least accurate weapons.
After i saw that challange i instantly knew. Get plasma with lowest ammo count in shop. Needed 4 buys for 40% ammo.
Then remove scavanger skill.
Join match, shoot Hordes. Done
