Why is shrapnel so stupid?
The Rumbler.
Look at me I'm a grenade but I only proc bleed in close range!
If I'm fired beyond like 8 meters suddenly there's no bleeding perk on my weapon.
Why the hell is the range it works at determine if it causes bleed or not. Idiotic restriction of a blessing.
On a more positive note, Rumbler Gungryn is fun

Because ogryn spit wipes off at high velocity so his nail clippings don't remain stuck to the grenade for long.

when it says "+x bleed stacks from close range explosions" it means the epicentre of the explosion, so the "closest range" of the explosion. your distance doesnt matter, so if youre 8 meters away, you would still apply bleed if the enemy is within the epicentre of the explosion.
the epicentre is 2 to 3 meters, which you can also see when you inspect the weapon

i agree shrapnel is disappointing and its restriction to the epicenter feels like a middle finger to those who want bleed in order to help finish up trash mobs

the good news is the up coming ogryn rework will have the "fire away" passive allowing all explosives to deal 2 burn at clsoe and 1 burn on radius which should be enough to let rumbler users finally get a nice single shot room clear on cannon fodder enemies (non elites and non specials)

shrapnel grenades are great....if you know how to use them. it's good for infiltrate builds that are trying to build bleed stacks. if you under hand throw it wont break stealth it gives 4 bleed stacks to everything with, and start up knife combos, so on larger waves its nice. it also staggers all enemy's within it.
