Linux Workaround

For any rejects running Linux or Steam Deck the following workaround will help you get in game.

Using Proton GE 7.37
Have Proton EasyAntiCheat Runtime installed in Steam.

1) Install game, run it once to initiate the install script for EAC, .Net, WebView2. Launcher will load blank, quit out the launcher.

2) In the game install directory under steamapps/common go to the /launcher folder and rename WebView2Loader.dll → WebView2Loader.dll.old

3) In your game wine prefix appdata folder located at .steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/2156210/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Application\ Data/Fatshark/Darktide/ you will need to add a pre-generated user_settings.config file. This can either be done by running the game on Windows once and copying the file over, or I’ve uploaded a copy of the default file here: https://pastes.io/krcqjgg9gz

4) Launch the game normally, you can click the ‘Play’ button and adjust your graphic settings in-game. You may get a black screen, this will require reloading the game until it properly loads. I found first loading the game with ESYNC/FSYNC disabled once will help stop this from happening as often. PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 PROTON_NO_FSYNC=1 %command% be sure to enable them again after your initial load.

You can play normally, I've put in a good number of hours with this workaround. The game will sometimes crash when changing graphics settings or if the game window loses focus but this may be beta related itself.

Hey there, what are this suggestions solving exactly ?

I am using proton-ge 7-41 without adjusting anything on the configs, Gene starts and can be played with the currently known performance issues

I didnt get the previous beta to work but this current pre-release I literally didn't have to do anything. I selected Proton Experiemental and the game downloaded and just ran. Played through full rounds, no crashing for me:

on Arch Linux with rtx 2080 have some hard visual artifacts -- may be old drivers? 520.56, pacman says they are up to date

Amazing that the developers aren't supporting steam deck and a few users get it done in 5 mins.. really makes you think

I managed to get into a game without doing any steps besides updating the deck. Just downloaded the game to internal SD and hit play.
