I think you and a handful of others are proof that its random selection. Plenty of forum trolls and fanboys alike got access.
Not at all. Trying to get this crap running on different hardware after all.
Pretty much even a lot more data of your specs, games, activities and so on, than if you just sign up using their email form.
However, ia lso think its kind of random or has some hidden conditions.
Potentially they have target groups specified by some internal conditions, like lets say they categorized groups after system specs and whether they played Vermintide or not and if one of their 10 test groups they created is too small and they have a request, they take that person.
Or not, who knows.
Basically, in my opinion, an open beta is the best way anyway.
However, they have a limited server structure, so i assume they want to make sure that they dont let too many people in, to not overload it.
As they did with Vermintide several times by underestimating the demand.
When the call went out a few days back on steam i sent it to some other friends, 7 applied, 7 got in. I think the steam signup recently was an easy in.
^this. game's gone gold, they're just stress-testing the servers right now.
