Agreed. And people are ok with this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ as well, hence the reason why Diablo Immortal exists.
60$/€ became the new norm for that therm.
But to the game.....Fatshark did the exact same thing in Vermintide2 too. And i have to say, it's not a cashgrab.
Yeah there are COSMETIC items you can get with either buying premium currency, or buying the cosmetic packs right away.
BUT
You can earn 90% of the cosmetic items available through playing the game too. Premium currency is obtainable by playing alone the game as well. And i'm sure/hope, they will do it here too.
So just wait till release before you judge.

It is not ok because there are worse.
It was only an indicator that OP is complaining here about such tiny things while there are far more worse business practices out there, with which i have the feeling he/she is totally fine with because it's "FREE"

And why is the monetization disgusting? AGAIN! You can buy every cosmetic item with "Shilling". Which can be obtained by simply playing the game.
Only thing you can only get by paying real money are the premium cosmetics. But it is only cosmetic. Just don't buy them? Easy as that. How better or worse the premium cosmetics are compared to the ones you can get for shilling is subjective. For me, most of the premium cosmetics are simply ugly as hell. The only decent one is the Trophy of the Gave.
So for me, since they are worthless, they are definitely overpriced as you said. But i don't buy them neither. I'm not stnpid. If someone loves them and buys them, they are I assume a fair price for that person. But again...it is COSMETIC.
If they keep that monetization in Darktide 2, i'm more than happy with that, since I know, i won't spend a single cent on cosmetic items.
But funny that you are the one who is so heavily criticizing them and their assumed future monetization methods while you are also part of the problem. Already owning Darktide? Why did you pre-purchase if you know nothing about these things? Are you afraid that they will run out of copies, so you quickly pre-purchased it?
Just wait till release if you are so concerned.
They also say the premium store will be how you buy DLC. If you could slowly grind aquilas by playing normally you'd eventually be able to get all the DLC for free. No way they'd ever allow that. You gotta pay.
But back to the cosmetic items with shillings vs Premium cosmetics.
Dunno. I have some really beloved favorites amongs the shilling cosmetics. Yeah sadly Bardin is the only one who has really creative ones, and Kruber, and Kerilian some noce ones. Saltz and Sienna has just "meeeeeh" cosmetics. But sadly for me even the premium ones for these characters are ugly. So.....PERSONALLY i don't see any value in those premium cosmetics. The only one i find really cool the Malekith one for Kerillian. But i don't play her often so.....no point for those cosmetics again.
Again, as long as the paywalled items are only cosmetic, i don't care.
We could argue however if the content and character path expansions are rightfully payed DLCs.
I find the price tag on WoM ridiculous. And as long the extra career paths are around 3€, i can accept that, since there are stillmore than enough paths to play in the vanilla. But if someone says, it is a rip off, i can understand that too. But i think Fatshark learned it's lesson, since Chaos Waste was a free content update on the other hand. So they are learning. That's why i have hopes for Darktide.
Hopes. Not trust. Just hopes. :)
But again as i already wrote. If those are cosmetic only items, or bigger content updates/extansions, I can live with that. Since i can't give less cräp about cosmetics. The issues start as soon they want to get money for things like.....WoM in Vermintide 2. After which they changed their market practice and released CW for free. But as I wrote in my first comment....let's see when the game releases.
