Why are premium cosmetics so dull?
I wana spend money on cosmetics, but most of whats ever in the shop is so generic. And why is the rotation between items so slow?

FOMO and low expectations to low quality acceptance.

Well that's your first problem.
almost all cosmetics are trash because people behind them have no creativity
and the rotation is like that because some people in their infinite wisdom thought that will bring the most amount of money

I mean, it usually does. Just because the FOMO isn't working on you doesn't mean it doesn't work on others. It's a tried and true business model.

I don't know Fatshark's taste of cosmetics is very hit or miss. Some really strange stuff especially in Vermintide 2... then a few are quite good and again even ambitious but look terrible to me. The best one is free from Vermintide 1 carry over Kerrillian Skin and generally in game achievement skins.

Some weeks there's good stuff other weeks there's boring stuff. Admittedly it's mostly disappointing though.

Just be patient and don't succumb to spending your aquilas on the sub par crap just because you can.

Also, you don't need to buy full outfits - some single items pair better with unrelated items such as the stuff from commissar and penances. In game I've seen some pretty cool outfits that have obviously been cobbled together from a variety of sources. These unique combos look more interesting than the cookie cutter 'off the rack' outfits anyway.

Okay you got me with that 1, the fish too. The pig is great because when you run ahead and everyone else sees pig ass on your head. Its the many colorful n strange sets i dislike.

They only show the good stuff in the FOMO shop when they're promoting something.
Things like krieg/cadia skins, and non-hobo zealot armor.
If there is one thing about the cosmetics in Darktide is that its still a better than most other cosmetic systems out there. Most games and mainly live services offer only whole body cosmetics or two-body cosmetics (Head + Body).

At least Darktide offers more freedom to mix and match between the just the 3 pieces. Although thats the only good thing I can say about it. Since the mix and match makes some players stand out more than others.
It was pretty disappointing to see them just make lame headgear + eye combos at high price instead of letting you put one of the many hats that doesn't clip into your face. it could also be pretty customizable for characters like ogryn, if you could pack brain implants and rebreathers (like the minis).

mostly though the filler garbage is there to distance desirable purchases out so you're stuck sitting on aquillas. or falling victim to the trap and just buying something good enough because you don't know if it will come back or what replaces it will even be good. like with this current revision, if you were waiting for a better one than the war amps revision well sorry.
