Kantrael Infantry Lasgun and Vigilant Autogun, Are they too weak?
These semi auto guns are dealing very poor damage per second, and they have ton of recoils. I think they really deserve a buff. Make them shoot faster, pierce more enemies, recoilless like Recon Lasgun and deal more damage overall is fair. I had never see anyone using these guns and perform well. Even if you headshot every shot they still weak compare to Laspistol, Infantry Autogun and Recon Lasgun.

vigilant (headhunter) would work good if they had more stagger and damage to manicacs. You literally can die of point blank flamer, becasue you would never stop him flaming before he die.

Infantry lasguns just meh. After rebalancing they lost hteir breakpoints and become just bad

iLas is still a viable weapon, and in fact I'd argue even pretty great. Best mark currently is the IIb, followed by the VII. DPS on the iLas isn't really the metric you care about, more so its how many shots to hit a breakpoint on weakspot.

You need MF or FT to push it's break point threshold range into meaningful ranges for the IIb, and the VII usually does well with Exec stance. While it's not going to pump out the same DPS as recon or the vraks5, it's big selling point is ammo efficiency, especially the IIb.

Unfortunately vigilant autoguns don't have the same perks as the iLas and overall do worse compared to it. They just don't do enough meaningful damage against the threats that matter and they don't benefit from talents like shocktrooper for Vet. They're pretty bad.

In general, iLas could use some minor buffs to increase its damage against flak, then it would be perfect. The vigilant needs a series of buffs, however.

Almost all single target focused weapons have been in a bad spot since over a year ago when they decided to move the enemy meta to massive spawns. Revolver is the only exception I can think of really, and considering its speed & massive anti-armor power that's no surprise really.
I love the kantreal, it was my primary weapon on my main vet build for a long time and it's intrinsically the most 40k imperial guard weapon

The high powered version is lethal, accurate and very effective

I've rarely used a vigilant but the infantry and braced guns are very good imo

I think they need to give the Infantry lasguns better stability or buffed recoil. Makes little sense that LASERS would cause the atrocious recoil the Kantrael's suffer.

Its not unusable but you have to work for it and even then why bother when there's that sweet sweet Recon lasgun that does it faster smoother and in style.

I come to love the heavy infantry lasgun with headhunter / deadly accurate blessing on my deadshot /shock trooper vet for high level havocs.

infinite ammo - good damage (if you are consistent at shooting heads)

hard counters shooters / gunners

---

The vigilant autogun with surgical blessing I do like alot on a gun psyker. Very underrated there.
A recon is better at crowd control and unyielding, after the buff it's great all round but it excellent at that

The kantreal was great for precision long shots, picking out elites and specials and gunners heads poking over cover and kills consistently at mid to long range high accuracy.

Even so three to 4 body shots will kill a rager and I've found no issues with it dealing with other elites and even carapace enemies with a few well placed shots

Yes
Yeah both of these weapons are headshots or bust and they don't scare off normal gun enemies.
Yea I remember the kantreal lasguns being really good early in the game but have fallen off since then. Darktide has shifted into more hectic, crazy combat and you can't really sit back and snipe with these anymore. I think if they got rid of the recoil like you mentioned, it would help provide faster and more consistent damage output.
