Yes, because the horde clear is good enough to make it work.

The meta weapons are all comically op, and instead of doing a weapon balance after the new crafting system fatshark just increased the spawn amount.

I hate nerfs as much as the next person, but if they rebalanced most of the weapons, along with reducing amount of enemies would make the game a lot more fun.

Right now so many enemies stack that adding more enemies doesn't increase the difficulty just the kill feed text.

I think it would be worth taking a look at each class and ask "Why is this class taking the Dueling Sword over something else?". :)

For Zealots, I'm seeing people play with Thunderhammers, Relic Blades, Knives and Dueling Swords the most -- a fair mix tbh. One issue for Zealots is that they have pretty much one talent build, because those talents are usually the best (unfortunately), and those talents proc off of crits which means high-crit and high-attack speed weapons are preferred.
So part of the issue for Zealots is their talent tree invites them to play Dueling Swords and Knives, yet we do see other weapons used because they're better at things Knives and Dueling Swords don't do so well.

I'm also seeing some Zealots do really well with Eviscerators and Axes, the non-meta slave Zealots as I jokinly call them, which makes me wonder if most people just don't care to try and learn anything else than the Dueling Sword. I was gonna write something for each class, but this got too long already.

No its not.
Veteran's use Plasma, Recon and Shredders to horde clear.
Zealots and Psykers use fire to horde clear. That's how both of them make duelling sword work to horde clear without too much trouble.

An unpopular view, that dueling swords should have stayed as exclusive psyker weapon. It was fine on psyker.

Every Video, every Stream, every AM / higher Havoc everyone almost exclusively using the same Meta-Slave Dueling Sword and same 1-2 Builds

I mean play what you like / want but it is kinda boring, don't watch any DT vids/streams anymore either cuz its all just the same

I call it the run-away pigsticker simply because anyone wielding a DS is unlikely to stand and fight, making them a liability.

They are fine on others as well. I wouldn't call them OP. You can easily kill elites faster from range and pick a different melee weapon for better horde clear and suddenly you outperfrom any DS wielder in all aspects of the game.

you said enough tho. Psykers? cause they really dont have that much in terms of Op melee (most of their powers swords are ok tho). Vet , Why play with any other melee period.
