It wasent hell, it was waay easier back then when everyone got their titles unlocked.
I think it's more that the penances were easier before the last patch fixed cheesing them. AM difficulty has not been changed.
I feel you. I've written plenty of times before that the difficulty of the game has been inflating, appealing to a smaller and smaller crowd of hardcore players. The result is that none of my friends are willing to play the game anymore, and I don't really enjoy it either. Havok was a great idea in theory, since it provides opportunity for team-stacking tryhards to metagame their hearts out without treading on the toes of the rest of the community. Unfortunately, Fatmollusk couldn't resist the urge to make the other game modes more """challenging""" as well -- for no definable reason. The return of buffed gunners combined with more armored units, faster Dreg ragers, and the rest of the tune-ups freely given to enemies have made standard gameplay and Auric modes more of a chore then ever, and doubly so if you don't have a solid team to play with.
It's insane to me that the tiny minority of people who literally live, sleep, and dream about Darktide all day (which constitutes at most 3% of the people who actively log onto the game at any given time) have come to dominate the direction of new content. The game isn't relaxing anymore -- it oscillates between stimulation overload and a frustrating chore.
This is coming from someone who's been playing co-op shooters and horde shooters regularly for over two decades now. The game has become waaaaay too difficult to be casually enjoyable for extended periods of time.
i genuinely don't understand this. There are 7 levels of difficulty to choose from before Maelstrom. Why not just play the difficulty you enjoy? If the recent changes made whatever difficulty you enjoyed before it too difficult, just drop down a notch until you want to bump it back up. Same goes for havoc, play the difficulty you want and when it becomes too much, self-demote back to what you want to play.
Skill issue.
*yawn* Have sex.
This is the real game -- seeing what kind of mundane posts will send the basement-dwelling dysfunctionals into yet another episode of foaming paroxysms occasionally punctuated with more tired sloganeering ("git gud", "skill issue", etc).
You're not wrong, lol.
The game isn't difficult. Ya literally have 4 casual difficulties and one, which offers a progressively scaling challenge. No one's forcing ya to play Auric Maelstroms or +30 lvl Havocs.
Even if yer not up to the snuff for said progressively scaling challenge ya can play casually the lower difficulties as much as ya like. Just don't expect to get frames, titles and so on.
