What other firearms could the Ogryn use?

This started as a joking discussion between me and a friend of mine. I'd propose weapons I wish the Ogryn had, he'd shoot it down as them being too valuable and "fragile" for an Ogryn. Heavy Bolter? Too valuable. Plasma Cannon? Way too fragile. Lascannon? Ogryn don't aim. As funny as that is, though, it does raise the question... what COULD Ogyn use? We'll have to get new ranged weapons for them at some point, and I'm not sure what would make sense.

Earlier today, that same friend of mine proposed an Autocannon. Judging by what I can find online, that... seems reasonable? I mean it's a crew-served weapon, but then so is the Stubber, and it doesn't seem any more sphistiacted, valuable or fragile than that. So that might be AN option.

But what else? If we were adding new, presumably cool weapons for Ogryn, what do you fine people feel would make sense?

Autocannon makes the most sense as an anti-carapace ranged weapon for the Ogryn.

they Could do a portable Multi-laser, Heavy bolter or autocannon, other range weapon maybe a Full auto Grenade Launcher if they did Charonite version Volkite gun, Rad cleanser or meltagun. but with Penalise around aiming. as the Charonite are basically Kill-servitors seen in Cain's Books and HH.

Anything that space marines have a special unit type to carry, an ogryn can wield.

Fun > Lore Accuracy

If a Plasma Cannon can be made fun and fit into the games flow, then add it. Even if an Ogryn is technically not smart enough to find the trigger.

MELTA!!!! Yeah right. Id prefer to get some ogryn sized melee weapons. I know his melee weps are big to a human but there is no 2 handed sword/hammer. Even his one handed weps are small, like short sword proportions, compared to his body. How about a broadsword, an actual 2 handed maul?

Yea I was really hoping for a Gravitron when they said 'Crusher' was coming back in Signal Update. I'd also love to see those Space Marine machine gun gauntlets but that would probably be a Gun Lugger weapon.

Ogryns are stuck to "easy to use" weapons lorewise. So I don't want to be a spoilsport and would be ok with a heavy Bolter. But energy weapons...no too complicated for Ogryns. With Plasma they would constantly kill themselves. Yeah they would find the trigger alright. But that flashing light on side would mean nothing to them. They want to pull the trigger and keep shooting until...empty.
Maybe heavy Flamer and Rocket Launcher would be OK.

Like i said, I’m willing to suspend by disbelief, that in the millions of Ogryns there are a handful wont immediately kill themselves when handling a plasma cannon. With that, as long as the plasmas cannon could be made fun in a game sense. I would love to see it.

You will not find plasma cannons even in guard heavy weapon squads because they are too rare and valuable. Even normal plasma guns are handled by the the best marksmen in squads. And you want to give a plasma cannon to an Ogryn? Handron will sooner kiss you.

Standard Gunlugger carries the standard autocannon, just like Genestealer hybrids.
Ogryns do not have the mental forthwith to use energy weapons and "my headcanon" means ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in that regard.

The Gunlugger's likely kit is Autocannon, Dual Rippers, grenade launcher and dumbfire Missile launcher. Possibly heavy flamer is as pewpew as you're going to get.

-maybe a huge double barrel shotgun with slugs? I am not too deep in lore so Idk

-are they smart enough for pump action style weapons? so another pumpaction shotgun I wouldnt mind... ogryn trenchshotgun more range than ripper
-singleshot cannon? like super primetive could be fun

It is a hotshot volleygun. It is a stormtrooper laser lmg. And it is made out of plastic basically. Make an educated guess how ogrynproof it is.

well... are there thougher versions out there? else it was only a guess :D
