How do I play alone with bots?

I'm trying to play a private session but it says that I need at least other 2 player WTF? I don't get how to activate the bots. Also the bots are good or trash? In Vermintide 2 they are quite trashy so I wanna know if they improved them this time.

The bots are pretty trash, though they're a bit better than they used to be due to change in gearing, but I wouldn't want to play on any difficulty with just bots.

The only way is via a mod, but then you don't gain rewards/progression without some weird workaround that uses a second mod.

If you thought V2 bots were trash, you're gonna be blown away by how utterly abysmal DT's bots are.

Sorry, I meant the only way to play solo with 3 bots is via a mod.

there's another mod that lets you play solo and progress but you gotta look for it

Oh lord this is unbelievable! I bought the game with the intent of playing solo with bots, I don't wanna put some third party crap in my machine!

Solo mode was supposed to be here shortly after release or during december by their own words, then it changed to "its not a priority" last march and since then there haven't been any news, 2 people are needed atleast for a private lobby unless you use mods.

Edit: Do with this information what you will but if you bought this game for playing alone and don't want to use third party tools, you better off with a refund.

Thanks for your response! I think I will play some lobbies with real people and if I don't like I will refund the game. It is such a disappointment that bots aren't in the game!

Vermintide 2 bots are awesome, better than 80% of the players.
They are reliable, have aimbot and you can gear them properly with talents and are nigh unkillable.

Darktide bots are there just to be there, completely uterly useless lvl 1 bots with random talents and gear.

Thanks for your response! I think I will play some lobbies with real people and if I don't like I will refund the game. It is such a disappointment that bots aren't in the game!

I hope you can still enjoy it, the gameplay itself when you are fighting is something they did really well. Sadly I didn't get to enjoy much of it since I refunded 2 weeks after release and tried to stay below two hours. They took their sweet time to even add the 2 player private lobbies which happened way past those 2 weeks and back then I didn't want to risk anything which proved right considering a year later we still don't really have it.

I don't think you'd want solo mode anyways, the bots are as basic as they come, like for example if a bulwark approaches all 3 of the bots will just fruitlessly slash at the shield until they die lol.

Sounds like advanced AI that has spent the last year learning from the general player base to me ;)
