Aslong as you run slightly variations on these builds you'll do good
Yes this is a video on havoc 40 but if you can beat havoc 40 you can beat anything.
For melee weapons it's really just Relic Blade, Duelling Sword or knife. Those are the serious generalist options, some of the others work but generally if you use any of these you'll do fine.
One thing to note about the builds in the video is that if you run duelling sword or knife you should run scourg instead of blood redemption. I also personally run scourge on relic blade since I like to block cancel light attack sweeps and that gives me alot of crits. I also run blazing pięty myself, but really any of the 3 final perks for zealot are good. I just like Crits personally.
For ranged it's bolt pistol, braced auto gun, or flamer. Revolver can be used but I think most people agree bolt pistol is better . Bolt pistol is good for puncture to get bleed and more crits if that's something your build cares about, otherwise it's just reliable and accurate ranged damage without the clunkiness of the bolter. Braced auto gun just does consistent high damage and can be accurate with dance of death, generally just has much better ammo economy then the bolt pistol at the cost of not hitting carapace. Flamer does flamer things it's fun and pretty good, but kinda redundant since half of all psykers run inferno staff.
But really your main ranged weapon is blades of faith.
Invocation of Death
Duelling Sword Mk IV
Flamer/Bolt Gun
As long as you have these that's mostly meta
It doesn't quite work like this. The break points for enemies and the frequency in which they spawn are different, which changes the relevance of a lot of talents, blessings and weapons.
Q.E.D. Creeping Flames kills in 1 hit except in Havoc which means you cannot rely on it in Havoc to recycle your combat ability on repeat, even though it is meta everywhere else. Likewise, most guns kill in 1 shot which makes crowd control a mostly redundant affair, except in Havoc, where affects like Suppression, Stagger, Stun suddenly become relevant at controlling the amount of mass on the field; along with retrospective debuffs like Brittleness.
A lot of builds that are meta in Havoc, that emphasise DoT's, CC and debuffs are actually worse outside of Havoc where raw DPS is meta.
For example rending is super important at Havoc, but practically irrelevant outside of Havoc where enemies die too quick for rending to matter.
Yes generally. But if you use a havoc build in auric damnation its going to do well. If you use a auric damnation build in havoc it probably wont. Hence if you just want the "simple" answer going for havoc 40 builds, will likely be able to carry you, even if in standard heresy actually this one weapon does significantly better because it kills hoard enemys in one hit and if you run that you'll do better.
Especially in the case of zealot the only real thing of note, is that scourge becomes pretty useless if you play under damnation since you just one shot hoards with crits even with knife and duelling sword and so you don't get the benefits of the extra crit chance. But even then if you have all the right toughness perks and what not youll do fine and most of those are consistent at every difficulty.
Like its a different story for veteran and psyker and whatnot. I mean if you bring a min maxed bubble recharge build to malice your probably not accomplishing much.
Or Flamer, but I prefer the bolter
Relic blade (MK X)
Or Dueling sword.
Book to be safe,
Fury if you're self reliant and don't feel the need to support the team.
For anything else (read: easier), it's Dueling Sword, Flamer/Bolter, Charge or Stealth. Charge has better front-lining, Stealth has better picks and recovery support. Normally, 2 Toughness and 1 Stam Curio.
In both, Zealot takes throwing knives and uses it for sniping gunners or trappers. If you aren't very accurate with them, just use the Psykhanium and lower difficulties to practice your headshots with them. They have a slight arc and you may need to lead yours shots, you need to get a feel for it, but "DIE" on demand is very good. In both, you will go Blazing Piety for stacking as much Crit as possible.
There are other options that will work in both scenarios. However, those are considered the top tier meta choices. I'm sure someone will argue for using a Vigilant Autogun and a Shock Maul. That may work for them, but it's not the meta pick.
You too. Data transfers complete. I'm out.
