I go Toughness for most others since it naturally regenerates and there are feats to GREATLY increase the regeneration rate.
There is also the fact that corruption, from grims or otherwise, is a flat amount of HP. If you stack a bunch of HP, you can have less percent of it as corruption damage. This can save you a wound and give you some leeway if/when you take melee damage.
rest 3 health
As well many talents/feats to restore % of total toughness
For Zealots, with purge the wicked giving you two chastise the wicked you can restore half your toughness almost at will, get a crit bonus and that sweet AP for ranged weapons plus the move bonus to get in to and out of trouble. Took an autogun last run and I was dropping Ogryn like no tomorrow. Plus why add health when you get bonuses for not having any health?
Also in melee most important is if you have 100% or less. And the less damage you got to toughness, the faster you can recover it and get protectionf from next occasional hit.
While health and wounds good for missions with grims, it both hel you not become one-shot target in time.
Usually I dont lose health through messinons, and only spend it if things go really wrong. Can finish some 4th as ogryn without any med sation used or as zealot as only survivior from all team several times
