Make Every Shot Count Penance is actually ruining the game.

Playing Heresy is actually f-cking suffering. A good 50%+ of Vets I run into are running Revolver/Shotgun and never picking up ammo. Downing constantly because they are too scared to miss a shot.

Seriously Fatshark? Did you think for a moment that this would be a good idea? Did your designers think "Oh, just play the game for 500 hours and you might get it done by accident" as if that's remotely feasible to expect out of players that will optimise their way towards a shiny new shirt.

How did you actually regress so far from Vermintide 2? I can't think of a single second in VT2 where someones loadout and playstyle was purposefully butchered in the means of doing a challenge.

This isn't even the only Penance that ruins the game by forcing players into detrimental playstyles; Zealot has one for not shooting once during an entire match (whoopity doo, they can either get carried ruining the game for everyone else or use Flamer which probably unintentionally doesn't count against the Penance until your designers notice and also patch that out) and Psyker has one for dying. FOR DYING. ON PURPOSE.

I don't even give a damn about them. I've done a few and I don't care about the cosmetics, but when every 2nd game I run into on Heresy has some f-cking Zealot running ahead telling everyone to rush, or a Veteran being completely useless in their role the entire game, or a Psyker constantly trying to suicide in front of enemies. IT GETS VERY TIRING FATSHARK.

Yeah man I know exactly what your talking about.

I am now one of those guys with a revolver trying to do the penance, but I hate being a dirt bag so i inevitably over commit to teamplay and miss some shots.

I heard that they patched out the bug where you could disconnect with 1 bullet and then reconnect, shoot something and them leave.


There has to be an easier way to do this without screwing your team mates over.

Did it with a Plasma Gun. You can help your team out and get what you want as long as you spend some time thinking for yourself instead of looking up dumb guides from SmegmaLord420 which states that you can ONLY EVER EVER do it with the revolver.

Man you have no idea how frustrating is to be that useless Sharpshooter, who is unable to play properly. Because beign forced into stupid playstyle...

That melee only zealot one was horrid to do considering it seemed like no one on my team could kill the ranged. Made me feel so much worse about trying to get it done in that match that multiple times I almost said screw it and start taking out targets at range.

I pretty much ignore penances at this point.

Like, take the psyker penance to kill a pouncing hound with a brain burst. Not only is the timing hard to pull off, the buggy mess that is this specific enemy type just makes it worse - and it forces me to purposefully ignore more important targets because I need to charge my burst for the hound.

I got it eventually, much like I got the "long bomb" penance - on accident. But actively trying to complete them? Screw that.

It really is baffling how they've regressed so much from all they learned doing Vermintide. Like... seriously. What happened? I am genuinely curious why things are like this.

You could blame Tencent for the microtransactions, but what happened with stuff like the trash penances, terrible UI, questionable design decisions, awful loot grind, and boring class skills?

That is a penance you should do with friends and not ruin pub games with. I dont chase achievements, but this one will definitely ruin a teammate that tries to get it with you.

Seems the only reliable way to do it is to use a low ammo weapon and go 100% easy close shots til its dry and never do anything but melee for the rest of the match.

Why is that in there, who is that actually fun for?

Yeah, so many things that got nailed perfectly in Vermintide are missing or just done wrongly now.
For example, where is block while typing in chat. Something super easy to implement and long time proven to be important.

a lot of penances are just kind of ♥♥♥♥♥ like that so i don't even bother with them
as a sharpshooter i don't want to ruin my team's experience just cause of some funny little challenge, especially when there's better cosmetics in the shop
