Hey dumbshark how about banning the trolls

You spend more time banning people who own and enjoy the game but yet you let the trolls live here and do nothing but rake in awards for hating on your game.

I think Steam handles the moderation here.

I agree it's kind of beyond the pale that Steam permits the rampant abuse of alts and farming - as well as creating points incentives for trolling.

If you think this is bad, I play another game called dual universe (cool game) - and one salty ♥♥♥♥ who got banned for holding some exploit during beta then t rying to run it on launch; decided he was going on a crusade. Since the community was on discord mostly, this dude had made like ten alts and was having full blown conversations with himself, openly slandering the developer. Steam does nothing. Oh but I copped a ban for 24 hours for "being disrespectful" to one of the local amoebas here.

Be careful what you wish for: Whilst I have little experience with Steam mods, I can say in many other circumstances, 9/10 volunteer internet moderators are the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ scum of the earth.

Nothing kills a community like corrupt moderation - and you have to consider a normal person wouldn't moderate for free - so you really only get the trolls and mediocre control freaks apply.

Look at Star Citizen, I've had dudes openly stalk me and call me all sorts of nasty, full blown slurs - so whilst they're happy to put all the marketing stuff for international women's day and pride month on their twitter; behind the scenes they're homphobic as ♥♥♥♥ - and the openly condoned it. Whole project is tanking because of the sychophancy.

Forged Alliance Forever - we had one ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ power tripping moderator who basically held the community back from developing for years - abusing moderator powers in a community of less than one hundred people. Dunno when he left, but now that community is a couple of thousand.

Imo this forum should only be open to people who play the game.

Absolutely. Most forums that give moderation to fanboys who ruin the forum. They be powertripping like reddit mods. I 100000% agree with the last part, imo ALL games should only allow owners to use the discussion board.

Not just fanboys - fanboys in many cases are earnest, if somewhat passionate and misguided.

The real problem is sociopaths and psychopaths. These people are only interested in this tiny bit of power to engage in sadism and bully other people. It's a real problem in large organisations because these people tend to be very short sighted and impulsive and cause a lot of damage with their anti-social behaviour. Have a look at some prominent CEOs now - all ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sociopaths.

The problem is that gamers don't want to unite for their interests (usually because of people with antisocial personality disorder breaking it up); I mean we pay a pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ penny for our products - and Steam derives a lot of value from us as customers, whilst treating us like ♥♥♥♥.

I worked in service for years and one thing I cannot abide is other service professionals not doing their job.

Unfortunately, the concept of voting with your wallet seems especially alien to people on this specific forum.
