Fatshark, my friend almost get epileptic after this patch
There is a serious problem with psyker’s surge staff charging effect after patch.
It constantly flashing light makes other teammate more uncomfortable than caster psyker specially when surrounding environment are usually dark.
One of my teammate felt sick after a mission, I really think Fatshark there is a serious problem right now.

The new VFX on the Surge Staff are horrific.

Midway through a mission, my eyes start feeling weird, by the end of the mission they are sore.

The blur has got to go, or be restricted to the sides of the screen. The flashing blue lights are just over the top, even for people without sensitivity.

If he has Epilepsy he shouldn't be playing the game anyway.

Okay, so I wasn't just imagining it.

I thought the screen was much blurrier/lightninger than normal.

I don't have epilepsy, motion sickness, or photosensitivity, and the new VFX hurt my eyes.

This.

Every video game comes with epilepsy warnings. There's a reason epileptic people shouldn't be playing certain types of video games.

If you aren't a Psyker player who's used the new Surge Staff, you really don't need to be commenting on this.

The new VFX cause the entire screen to go blurry with bright, flashing blue lights. It hurts the eyes.

It is NOT just about people with sensitivities.

I dont even have a special vision issue or epilepsia, but have a slight photosensivity, and things like way too bright stuff, blur etc can give me a migraine.

I can still play 99% games, even idk, a borderlands boss where all kinds of lights and effects happen. Its about the intensity / k's of the light.

I stopped playing Aliens Fireteam Elite as it was very dark with crazy flashy gun muzzle lights.

Devs even patched it on a couple of weapons, like a gatling. But still left some high flashy weapons, and while not unbeatable, the eye strain was too much.

So yeah, kinda concerned about this.

If you ask me, they didnt even have a right to modify this. Fix previous bugs, add content...but rework something like this after release? Without testing? With non photosensitive people complaining in half a dozen threads hours after patch??

Which would lead me to believe that his friend nearly had an epileptic episode due to the flashing lights of the effects/game. To which I thought. "Why is his friend who has epilepsy even playing this game?"
As a Psyker main I can assure you that yeah it's an eye sore but by god don't be so dramatic lol
MeGa Dec 15, 2022 @ 9:37am
Well, Hedge already confirmed they will look into it, which lowers the concerns a lot.

Just keep reporting if you feel similar, so they can know if this is impacting few players or hopefuly, most of them

Are you trying to convince us our eyes don't hurt?

Just seen it, its very bad even when charging. All things blurry, jumpy lights, like when its raining or so.

The purgatus staff has a similar effect when charging, but not so crazy. Still in the meat grinder you see how all lights go mad when charging it, from reflections to those bright rune like inscriptions around the meat grinder circumference. Not enjoyable no
Finally an effect that can bring light to 'no light' mode ;D
