The Commodore’s Vestures
why are they making the cosmetics store so silly? did vermintide 2 not have it like a catalog to buy what you wanted with deals on timers or something? seems to me like they've made it intentionally silly but maybe i'm wrong. Can someone explain to me how this whole timer gone, but 24 hours notification thing is going to be somehow better and less confusing?

Did it change for you? I downloaded the patch and it still shows the same layout.
"It’s important to note that the store is on rotation to give players some variety while at the same time not creating clutter. We feel that unlimited store pages are likely to create confusion and a bad user experience."

In non-corporate speak that translate to:

We want to continue to prey on your fear of missing out and think you are toddlers that can't handle choice.

I am going to launch a complaint in my EU country about breach of EU law and then have the Authorities crack down on this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Tencent destroyed Fatshark. Darktide is at 63% I hope it goes down to mostly negative until they start listening to us more than they do Tencent. I seriously despise Tencent for putting their dirty hands on it. Game is solid and good, everything else is doo-doo water. And the update feels like nothing 7gb of nothing...

I like this part the most:

"Rest assured, the cosmetics are not gone forever and will likely reappear".

Not gone, and likely in the same sentence, lol.

It has nothing to do with being silly. It has to do with psychology. By applying a timer they create a sense of possible loss. "Fear of Missing Out" or FOMO. Social media has proven that FOMO is an incredible influence on the younger population who has been adapted to require digital social status to remain "happy".
So it may only irritate you, but the seller is making millions off what the older generation has fought against in brick in mortar stores for centuries. Shoppers should not be treated like gamblers in vegas while sitting at home playing a game they paid money for.

The person who is in charge of the store is taking advice from someone who has been to school for gambling style revenue systems. Plan and simple.

You're insane to question it! Having a person endure the unenviable, mammoth task of navigating the digital labyrinth of two or more pages would cause permanent brain damage.

"What about being able to scroll down to view more crap instead?" - Don't get me started on the horrifying perils of that slippery slope!

made me lol

And @Thatguy97 i can definitely see that, I'm sort of a whale when it comes to 40k stuff, stuff like this actually has the opposite effect on me i guess, i can see the predatory marketing and it makes me reluctant to spend

Actually, I heard that was exactly why some delays were happening. They were being investigated because of EU law, apparently some of the store stuff was extremely borderline.

Edit: Also yeah, big time fomo, lol. I like how they say "LIKELY return" instead of "WILL return" just to put doubt in your mind.

A pity Fatshark isn't big enough to have the phrase "We feel that unlimited store pages are likely to create confusion and a bad user experience." be more meme-worthy, as with EA's "Sense of Pride and Accomplishment" or Activision Blizzard's "Don't you guys have phones?".

I do love them implying they're either too stupid to design a good shop UI or we're too stupid to handle it. Honestly, I'd be less offended by their FOMO-forcing intent if they just stopped talking about it. Ya gonna swindle us, at least be clever about it.

give me a catalogue to pick and choose from. half the price as well. i'm more likely to spend more money overall if the outfits were £5 and not over £10

All this does is force me to not allow people in my household under 18yo to play. Fatshark wants to be a predator, so treat them as such. I have restricted 2x accounts to not allow this game to boot up unless I play with them.
