Is there a random Genestealer Cult going on in the Background or am i looking into this to much?
While looking around the Maps I've been noticing a lot of GSC like stuff, While the Wolfquads are common enough to be looked passed i've seen a lot of already dead that look to me like Brood Brothers, while they could just be Chaos cultists they all look to uniform compared to the fightable chaos cultists you actually kill during the mission.

like i said i could be really over thinking this but i am going to keep my eyes out some more, GSC is my favourite faction

Moebian Sixth?

Tbf, I don't think you are wrong and it would be another enemy faction that would work with the game. It can provide both swarms/hordes, dudes with guns, elites, and bosses.

The possibility is certainly there, i wouldnt doubt that another enemy faction was at least talked about and maybe is already planned for the future.

Problem with sticking to the narrative is that the Moebian Domain is Nurgle vs The great Empire. No other factions is present.

Doesnt have to be part of the main story though.

There is that other hive city that is, according to a Psyker voice line, still alive. But everyone's being real hush-hush about it.
Given that we're fighting literal demons and forces of chaos... what could they possibly decide is something we need to not know? Well, Tyranids fit the bill, probably the only other force that's worth keeping quiet about. Like if the other city was being hit by Orks, would anyone give enough of a damn to intentionally keep us out of the loop?
(Also Rannick has fought genestealers before, and he gets real somber when talking about the other hive city.)

Genestealers is one thing, but for us to fight hordes of enemies it will have to be a whole tyranid invasion. And a tyranid invasion is not something one inquisitor ship usually handles.

I haven't noticed any GSC type stuff, seen the dead guys but I think those are just local PDF and cop equivalents.

That would make sense since Grendyl is Ordo Hereticus, if GSC were found that would then bring the Ordo Xenos in and I doubt they want to share the operating theater with a competing inquisitor.

That really dosnt fit in with how the empire reacted and how tyranids work.
If it was a dormant genestealer then there would be more of an reaction from the empire since its an very important system. Darktide is pretty locked in with nurgle, unless you go full mode then you can throw in all kinds of space marines etc which would just ruin everything about darktide.

It would be nice, but lore means they can't do what they did in vermintide and have the factions be on the same side (so everyone can get their specials and elites)

So they would either have to make a bunch of new specials/elites for the cults, have some lore breaking crap that the moebians and the cult are friends, or palette swap the current specials/elites with genestealer symbols and such.

My money would be on the last one.

That's my theory. Probably what happened to the other hive that gets mentioned.
Also you can hear an announcement on the Mourningstar that says there were Xenos sightings in the lowest levels of the hive. Genestealer cult is the only thing that makes sense.

I'd put money on the fact that there will be a crossover marketing campaign when Space Marine 2 comes out.
We have beastman in VH2 so why not :praisesun:

bit different, its not set in an specific time/event like darktide.

If there's Genestealers on the planet, the next step is Exterminatus, not a DLC :)

Isn't Vermintide set in End Times?
