Cry outside, probably the ones that aren't "torrent" as they fire slower sure, but are more ammo efficient and don't relly on the current ♥♥♥♥♥♥ ingernus damage stacks.
Bleeds/Burns are irrelevant on everything except bosses, and since the HP nerf, I'd still consider them pretty useless.
But really, the main thing is to find a good roll on either of those, perks you need to aim for are Crit Chance + Flak Damage, and Blessings are Headhunter 4 Infernus 4. Sustained Fire and Deathspitter can also work, but Headhunter is the best with Infernus.
And aim for the heads, which is very easy to do, since Recon lasguns are pinpoint accurate.
The Burnstacks are pretty poor damage and while you need to crit, you will also not do significant damage on said crits, because the base damage is low. The Crits don't even double the damage. So you are looking at a gun dealing 120 damage, if you use the VIIa, which packs the most punch.
All of them suck on Damnation... and since Infernus is capped in the number of stacks all of them will pretty much apply maximum stacks within the first half a second. So it doesn't really matter.
The MK VId (the blue one) has the most crits, but only clocks in with about 450DPS against a Rager without Blessings and Perks. This one crits so much you do not need Headhunter for it. Infernus and Deathspitter are the blessing combinations you want here. Deathspitter would also increase the damage of your burnstacks.
The MK VIIa (the brown one) has the least crits, but has almost twice the DPS of the other guns. With Headhunter and Infernus.
The MK II... i can't find one good argument for it. It has the DPS of the VId and the Crits of the VIIa. Its just made of suck.
That being said... Burnstacks really don't matter to much currently, and on Damnation you'll probably not have a good time with either. If i would have to pick one, gun to my head. I'd probably take the MK VId for this purpose, even though the VIIa has more DPS.
Hmm... don't think Headhunter is a necessary blessing. Maybe if you run them on a Psyker, but the innate Crit bonus of the Veteran makes it unnecessary to run Blessing. Just take them to the Psykhanium and shoot stuff. Pay attention to when you get yellow numbers. Spend a few minutes shooting stuff, and see if you really feel like you need more crits.
Since the maximum stacks are capped at 16 (i might be wrong on the specific number), and most of these will throw 4 crits in a row (due to how crits work), you are all capped on the Burnstack after the first series of crits.
It's simple, pick a gun you like and shoot.
whilst it is true that you pick a gun you like, there are also absolutely builds in the game, as there were/are in VT2.
Curio and Weapon Blessings and Perks stack off Feats to allow characters to be quite different even within the same class and even at times using the same or similar weapons. These are 100% builds. And given that Darktide allows for you to have 5 different loadouts pre-set for each Operative, it stands to reason that you'd have each of the different loadouts be different builds.
Even when the ammo runs out, picking out specials with mindburst when we aren't losing our BB for being a highlighter to the otherwise blind teammates rewards soul blazed aoe to the surrounding area and the target itself if it lives.
(as for the laspistol, Ghost is a definite good one to take)
Edit: I play T4 & T5s regularly. people sleep on the laspistols when they have great hipfire, added mobility, and pretty much just immune to suppression. More people need to consider them.
The Revolver does need some love though; that reload is horrid and could afford a speedloader or returning charmed reload to it.
@Imposing your playstyle on others is a bit cringe. Have fun however you have fun.
