The 5th Class for Darktide: Assassin
I think we should have a class that can stealth for a short time, deal massive damage to single targets like Vermintide 2's Shade. What's your opinion?

So many lore junkies here and don't realize that the Imperium is full of assassins of all kinds, not just Officio Temple Assassins.

Of the Only War class categories, we are missing Ratlings and Tech-Priests. From Dark Heresy, well, it's system is a bit more free-form but out of the combat-oriented roles, Assassin is probably the most notable one we're missing. If we do get any new archetypes (and so far, we've only been promised more classes, not archetypes) I expect them to come from these three.

Assassins can come from a variety of places: criminal endeavors whether petty or organized across sectors, religiously-motivated organizations that "worship" by delivering death are not uncommon in the Imperium, and even many planetary governments employ perfectly legitimate professional killers in organizations not dissimilar to modern RL intelligence agencies or those designed to mimic the purpose of the greater Officio Assassinorum but only on a planetary scale. Hell, they might even just be serial murderers who were good at killing and getting away with it until the one time they weren't. However they gained their skills, and for whatever purpose they were practiced before, now they are put to work in the Emperor's service and they will succeed or they will die. These are perhaps the very easiest dudes to justify being rounded up in Interrogator Rannick's talent-hunt.
can the inquisition really interfer with adeptus mechanicus thou? wouldn't the cyborg dudes deal with their own traitors rather than send them to the inquisition? I don't know loads of lore but it sounds like they are too reliant on the cyborgs to interfer too heavily in their business. not sure the whole "you're a prisoner" thing would work as well for tech priest.
The Admech will mostly deal with their owns when possible. But there are people they wouldn't care about, who would fit in the Reject category like Tech Cultists and Adepts
I think a Sister of battle would be appropriate, not a full-on battle sister, but like a lower rank one.

I think we need more archtypes within the 4 defined classes first before they roll out a new class entirely. Desperately waiting on a stormtrooper class here.
You are forgeting that Ad mech are the prime adepts of the Machine Cult, and it is a religion through and through. And for the loyalist Ad Mech the Emperor is the Omnisiah of their holly trinity, the physical manifestation of their god. Tech Messiah, like... well Jesus. Loyal techpriests will always obey HIs personal agents ( that also includes rogue traders, not just inquisition). That is why so many of Ad Mech serve as personal retinue of those agents.

You're probably talking about the term "minions", which is used to describe some of the abilities etc. I will probably disappoint you, but from what I saw, it's almost certain that the term refers to the other squad members (players).

Out of context, but for those that want a Commissar class. There's a commissar uniform in the files. I believe it'll be for cosmetic purposes only, but who knows.

Death Cult assassins aren't Officio. ANd it should be it's own ''Assassin'' archetype class not a subclass of the Zealot. Though I understand why you'd suggest that since it works lore-wise a bit.

Stealth would be broken in this game, as it was/is in VT2 so it's no wonder that it's not in Darktide.
Assasin could still be in the game, Eversor sends it's regards, nobody will notice if there is nobody to notice.
Eversor are way to powerful.

Yes. Deathcult Assassin. Female only (optional but preferable).
Ability is to Stealth like the Shade.

Dual Swords unique melee weapon.
Some sort of Venom Weapon ranged weapon.

Recoverable mid-Damage + High Stagger throwing knives as grenades.
DC Assassin aren't gender restricted

Most DC Assassin representation is female-centric. I'd advocate to keep it as such so the aesthetic can be kept focused in rather than have a bland outfit that's designed to work for both male and female.

They're one of the biggest and most popular factions in the setting, and Darktide is meant to focus on the underclasses, anyway, not factions with major political power.

I'd say go full. She can easily be made a toughness/hp level inbetween the Sharpshooter and the Ogryn. to represent her power armor.

Give her a Melta Weapon unique for long range and a Power Axe as a melee (or something else more appropriate).

Then give her Grenades be Fire Grenades and her Special Ability is some Party Buff, to represent her party-focus. Maybe something to boost-up Thoughness regen .

You already have an Ogryn. There's no point in being sissy about it and give us a sanitized sister.

People keep forgetting about the rejects and prisoners theme in the player characters...
everyone say no to tech priest but yes to assassin when assassin have to be put every bloody waking time in cyro pods? wtf is wrong with ya ppl, so we r ignoring the fact we could of have nearly anyone as in 5th slot for we had zealot, priest, orgyn, veteran but we can't choose who would be the damn flipping 5th slot? Geez, why not throw in the beggar a stick and paper, he or she probably going be the biggest gimmick there is to be.

I mean death cult assassin would be fine imo but I do agree that Officio Assassinorum would be a bad fit for the themes of this game
I don't think a kerillian clone would fit 40k universe
