Rumbler vs Grenadier Gauntlet on a melee Ogryn?
I just can't find a reason to use my lovely Rumbler..
It has less ammo per magazine/about the same shots per minute.
The damage is inconsistent against most elites/specials as you never know if the grenade will bounce right on top of the enemy you shot.
I will say it's better against monstrosities (I use adhesive charge), but in most cases I use my melee weapon against them anyways.
So I'm curious, what makes you Ogryns out there choose Rumbler over Grenadier Gauntlet?

BONK... BOOM heheheh
Kickback, rock
BOTH ARE GREAT.
My Rumbler is good on my melee crowd-sweeper for tougher armoured enemies for CC and to soften them up or knocking crowds over, it's got huge stagger.

The gauntlet I think is really good at sniping, because your forced to aim, it's got quick swap and aim speed. I like it on my tank/shield Ogryn because I can swap it between heavy attacks.
rumbler. i hate the Grenadier Gauntlet, ur movement become very slow.
I mostly use the kickback. I shoot in the general direction of a distant target and they usually die.
Kickback
The Rumbler has way larger explosion radius than the gauntlet, and the ability to bounce grenades around corners or of the ceiling past obstacles has saved many a teammates from poxhounds.
Also, the delayed explosion on the Rumbler can help your revive teammates. Shoot the Rumbler and start reviving. The explosion will go off and stagger enemies nearby, buying you a few precious seconds, so you won't take HP damage, while scraping your buddy off the ground.
But if you just want straight up damage on elites, the gauntlet is the way to go.
The Rumbler is a specialists weapon.
Tbh since the ammo aura nerf (which was a good thing mind) Rumbler is rarely the better pick. Note that both the GG and Rumbler - and especially that Rumbler - are getting some very nice blessings / fixes / buffs next week. Rumbler might become genuinely OP with the AoE blessing & talent buffs and the new bleed blessing. Or not. It's hard to say.

Tbh the Rumbler could stand to be crazy strong and still be balanced, if it's for close range AoE's only.
Rumbler does what Ogryn already does well; throw enemies around and spread damage at the same time. It's more doubling down on your crowd control than providing a range utility you come to use your ranged for. It's pretty fun for that simple play style but can be hugely blindspotted by matchmaking. If you've ever been cut by like 500 gun enemies your teammates fell to and left you to deal with solo with this thing you will understand true pain.
If you wanna go BOOM: Rumbler.

It even sticks to Monsters, with the right Blessing. ;)
they are honestly both good, one gives you alot more cc at a range so you can close the gap and the other will kill some targets faster. Its kind of preference... use both and choose.

this is actually very doable with the rumbler. just shoot the 500 guys (with the huge aoe of the rumbler) then walk up and kill guys. If you are too busy to kill them then use that time to do what you need and shoot one more rumbler shot. Like most oggy weapons there is very few blind spots in most of them and they all have an answer to most things.
Rumbler's good for creating space or interrupting a bunched up group of specials/elites/ranged at once, also great vs monsters. Rumbler's also good at clearing area around a teammate nabbed by a special to give either them or you breathing space.

GG is more of a sniper weapon by comparison, decent breakpoints at range vs most specials and elites esp if you can land headshots, but comparatively less AOE.

Lorenz Kickback instead of either
Rumbler is way more satisfying, but Gauntlet is just as close as you get to the revolver playstyle against disabler enemies.

Hardly need the AoE cc of Rumbler since your hitstun is already great against Ragers and Maulers
