GPU overheats ONLY on the Blessings Menu
Why? Does anyone else's do this? Typically running at about 50% GPU usage throughout the entire game (my room gets hot when I max it all out)

But, ONLY in the Blessings Menu, my GPU ramps tf up to 2200 MHz which is like overclocked MAXUMUM it goes, and then my fan speeds skyrocket instantly.

This is like the main new feature, why does it suck so bad. Do you really need a $700 video card running maxxed out just to show a menu, Fatshark? Wtf?

This happened to my environment too. I've never heard that FAN sound.

Did you monitor your FPS?
The menus I think are limited in FPS.
Loading screens and character selection and whatnot is all limited to 60 FPS ( or around 120 with frame gen ).
Maybe they forgot to add that limit to the blessings menu.

Yeah they fu**ed it up so hard, not even GPUs can handle it now, they give up xD

(Sorry i had to make that one)

Yeah sometimes i see this in other game menus aswell in many games, idk why ...

It could be something else.

But if you have a simple screen that doesn't need a lot of performance to render and you don't put a limit on FPS it can quickly jump to thousands of FPS.
Basically as many frames per second as the card can produce, which might be accompanied by the card making some kind of screeching noise.

That's why games usually have a 60 FPS limit in loading screens.

If you don't have an FPS cap set in options try that and test again if the menu still behaves like this.

its the same for me too. it tend to regulate after like 1 min for me.

But yeah like some other said, never heard my fan loud like that

Yep.

GPU utilization shoots up an additional 20% whenever i am on that page. Ridiculous GPU usage for something static like that.

Just more proof that they don't optimize or test the ♥♥♥♥ they release.

Your GPU is crying, it has to render all of this power the omassaish is blessing you

Your frame rate is unlimited and you have no FPS cap set...
Many games have this issue if a menu has no defined FPS limit.
Set your FPS cap to your monitor refresh rate. Your GPU will never ramp up beyond the hard limit. You can also set a max FPS cap in your GPU driver software. You should do this to avoid the issue in the future.

Setting these limits also significantly reduces texture pops and screen tearing as your gpu isn't delivering multiple frames over the same refresh cycle...yes its cool to have 1000000fps but your monitor is 60hz lol all you'll see is ghosting, tear lines and pops as your FPS has to be divisible by your monitor refresh rate for optimal visuals

Hope that makes sense to a warhammer fan :waytohell: :emofdr:

Thermal throttling and overheating are not the fault of software. In a properly built computer there will never be any overheating or thermal throttling. You should redesign the thermal management in your computer. There is probably a severe lack of airflow and fans, or maybe even a bad case. Are you running positive, negative, or neutral fan pressure? How many fans do you have installed? If you have a water cooling radiator, are the fans all sucking air IN to the case? There are many variables at play here.

Nope. I use Freesync/Vsync @120Hz

Even capped my framerate to a lower value in RTSS. ♥♥♥♥'s still drawing too much power on something that's basically a static menu.

Piss poor optimization. That's what it is.

Nothing new there.

Their optimization efforts have always been piss poor. Be it client or server side.

swedish coding
The new patch introduced a memory leak for some of the menus.

If you have a geforce just open the geforce control panel and cap your fps to whatever. I put it to 144.
Background fps is on 60.
After that you dont have to cap fps ingame at all.

It's a menu, but its still also a rendered 3D environment - not a single image with some buttons like a pause menu.

However, Ive also found using an uncapped framerate, i'll see maybe an 80-90% increase in FPS (80 outside menu, 150 inside menu), a 40W increase power draw, extra 30$ GPU core utilization, and an extra 300MB in VRAM usage. I only see a couple of degrees increase in temp though.

If i place a 120 FPS cap on it, i don't see any of this increase, as one would probably expect.

It doesn't make a lot of sense though for a menu, even rendered as it is, to see such an increase in values but it's probably always a good idea to set a framerate limit anyway.

There is something going on. In the Mourningstar using nVidia App overlay it shows 90 fps at 120 watts. Opening the blessing menu it drops to 75 fps and watts jumps to 220 and chugs.

This is using a Darktide FPS cap set to 90. (13700k / 4070ti configuration)
