Masteries suck
Bought the game after the Locked and Loaded update.
It took me almost 150 hours to understand that blessings don't get automatically used for all weapons of that family type when leveling masteries up.

You can unlock them with the masteries system to then entreat them.
I feel so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stupid.
Is it just me or is this stuff un-intuitive as ♥♥♥♥?
Why is there no small explanatory text?

I'd still argue and say it's still confusing. I got my brother into the game and he doesn't know what anything is or how it works. It's still a lot of clicking and trying to understand stuff.

Simple well designed solution, that adds clarity withour having to read anything would be:
Clicking on a weapon, on the right side is the mastery system like it is now.
You are able to drag and drop unlocked masteries. Only two slots.
It is not that hard.
If I may add, instead of skulls, use the current rarity system for items, make individual masteries white/ gray by default, green next unlock, green, blue, purple, orange.
This would all add consistency.
Also for simplicity make it all a menu that interacts with itself instead of having to run around.

Was this so difficult?
Get better UI/UX designers or listen to them

You have to allocate the mastery blessing points!

I bet you had a bunch of them 100% when you figured it out!

That only makes them available for Re-Blessing. The OP seemed to think they'd take effect just by being unlocked.

I had no idea about this either and fully agree that if this were analyzed for even 5 minutes by an UX engineer, they'd get an earful.
I am amazed a multi-million budget game has sod all UX aspects taken care of.

I'm going into my mid 40's and I feel you. It took me a while to get it but 150h is more than I've spent on mastery. It took me trials and error to find out that sacrificing a weapon yields different exp if it's not a matching one. And what matters is the level of the weapon and not the grade. It took me millions of money to figure it out but I got there.

i mean i figured it out in like 15 minutes

Thank you for the nice and supporting words.

I wont be alone with that issue. Obviously it is my error since there is a help button to press. I wrote a provocative title and I also just started getting into builds.

Others will have the same experience regardless and but wont admit or be aware of it.

When building UI as a developer you have to keep in mind, how it can be misinterpreted.
You will most likely be entirely alone in with this issue.

Nah, there is most likely going to be someone who gets it only after 1000 hours. Never underestimate how silly people can be, and OP is far from being the dullest tool in the shed.

But it's not a massive issue though, as others have pointed out it really helps that the UI shows only two blessings on the weapon in the inventory and crafting menus.
there are like three separate splashes on the way to loading the game that all offer a tutorial on how the mastery and itemization system works

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ just click on one
