They have a choice of activated ability that'll reload their weapon instantly, so if they spend the whole magazine and then activate it the weapon will be full again.

With cd reductions (including stim) you can fire for some time. Crits give you some ammo from pockets, elite kills by team 4% cd reduction, ability insta swap to range and reload it. So kinda pewpewpew for few minutes then ability again and pewpewpew.

Or the guy prob had good gaming chair.

My guess is either bug, the five minutes are a bit of an exaggeration and it wasn't that long, or it was a build thing.

Ogryns have an ability that instantly reloads their gun, and a way to get free shots every now and then. Combine that with a vet's ammo salvage perk and you can really extend the uptime firing your gun.

so basically its ammo that is being loaded directly into the mag
but the ammo is being used anyway so its not infinite? :D

stubber specifically has a blessing that just loads bullets into it when a bullet crits. With the keystone at allows you to get a free shot, and a skill that forces you to crit when you get said free shot, you can basically keep shooting as long as you keep hitting things and critting.

While there are Talents that can reduce the cool down on Talents. Bruiser reduces cooldown by 4% on each Elite Kill.

Massacer increases Crit chance by up to 8%.

Burst Limiter Override has a 12% to trigger Lucky Bullet. Lucky Bullet does not consume a bullet and guarantees a crit (good shooting).

So with a gun that has Charmed Reload (which reloads 2-5 bullets on a Crit) and 5% Ranged Crit Chance... you can get around a 25% chance to reload the bullets and a 12% of not consuming ammo. Burst Length is important here, as all shots in a burst will be a crit.

Thus with an Achlys Mk VII Twin-Linked Heavy Stubber and their 150/600 (+25% ammo with ammo stash) ammo.... you can get up to 934 bullets. If we account for another 12% of Lucky Bullet (the Achlys does not fire in a burst), that would bring the total Ammo Pool the Ogryn can have to about 1046 bullets.

The Achlys has a SPM of 645 (10,75 SPS). Which means even if everything comes up Ogryn, it does not have the ammo to shoot for 5 minutes. A full minute of fire uses up 61% of the full ammo reserves in this case. So maybe, with some luck and conveniently placed ammo staches you can get to 2 and a half minutes to 3 minutes. Which can feel like 5, i guess.

Important is that it doesn't get (much) better with other ammo economies... The Gorgonum for example has 90/360 bullets at a RPM of 375. As with Ammo Stach and Lucky Bullet's 12% free bullets factored in you end up with a total ammo stach of 630, which also would be about 59% ammo used per Minute of shooting.

Other weapons, like the Ripper Gun aren't much better. Though their Burst fire profiles can lead to multiple instances of Crit hits and because Lucky Bullet only gives the ammo back if the Crit also hits, which means a 3 round burst could have 1 bullet hitting and 2 missing, and thus only giving you a free bullet for 1 of 3 shot rounds, despite all of them being crits.

Ripper Guns all have a base ammo pool of 192, at best. So we are looking at 240 with Ammo Stach Talent, and then another 12%, best case, for Lucky Bullet. So at the very best it would be 269 Ammo.

They have a SPM of 533,4 to 600 (10spm and twice 8,89 shots per seconds), but every shot is a burst of 2 to 3 rounds, depending on the Mark. Needless to say that obviously both numbers are way larger than the 269 potential maximum ammo pool.

Long story short.. i do not believe that it is possible to shoot 5 minutes straight, even if you get all the tricks in the book. But you can get shooting several minutes non stop with the Stubbers.

Yep, was able to shoot about 2 minutes straight, activating 3 Burst Limiter Overrides in one Match. That was very lucky and the only reason I had to stop shooting was because I had no ammo remaining.
If you have nice teammates who drop an ammobox and you are free to use it, then you can keep shooting. But beeing in a situation where you can and need to keep shooting does not occur that often. Only in Maelstrom with weaker Monstrosities and huge mixed hordes.

Veteran can also crank up the recon lasgun to the extreme.

With critical hits you do not consume ammunition and you can use specialist talent to push your rate-of-fire well above 20rnd per/second. Even small ammo containers give tremendous amount of ammo and with passive can stretch out reserves even further. So you can play even the highest difficulty of the game with constant shooting. And armored enemies aren't a problem either as you can apply max stacks of brittle instantly.
