The host can't even exhibit the Havoc mission that the host has either. Anyone joining is just a person looking to play Havoc missions and their unique mutators.
♥♥♥♥ whomever at FatShark who thought of this content gating.
If you complete an auric maelstrom you get boosted to rank 16 too I think.
That's my understanding of it, anyway.
A simple Havoc XP meter would have been less convoluted.
You are correct.
My biggest gripe about the Havoc matchmaking is how convoluted it is. Host has to advertise the party. Player B requests to join. Then Needs to wait for Host to approve them. And then has to click accept for the mission.
Why not just have the ability to join a game in session, and a simple toggle to make a game private if a host is waiting for specific people to join them.
Still it's not as bad as people think with no progression if you're not host.
I'm enjoying it so far, new modifiers and an extra spicy AI director.
Wish we could just quickplay though.
FS loves repeating mistakes without learning from them for some strange reason so that's why we now have Weaves 2.0 with an even more convoluted grouping and ranking system.
I feel like I'm back in Ironforge again and its 2004/05..
Thanks. What happens if I join a rank 40 havoc, finish it and then lose several games in a row before the week update. Do I get rank 40 or will I be lower?
You would still get rank 40 at the end of the week. You only lose 1/3 attempts if you're hosting and lose. As far as I can tell the only way to go down a rank is to just not play for the week. You're guaranteed to at least keep your progress from the previous week as long as you play. With 3 chances to progress to higher ranks by winning as host or infinite chances by joining others.
"At the end of each week, a player will earn a Weekly Cache of materials that corresponds to their highest cleared Assignment in that week. At the start of the next week, a player’s Assignment Rank will update based on the highest cleared Assignment from the previous week. Note: The player’s Clearance Level, which represents the highest all-time Havoc Assignment completed and updates in real-time, will not go down each week."
"If a player does not partake in at least (1) Assignment Rank (either their own or from a friend or through the Party Finder) during the week (whether successfully or unsuccessfully), then their current Havoc Assignment Rank will go down (1) Rank."
I didn't like Weaves back in VT2 so why would I like Havoc even if it's "free"?
The new mission is fun and the weapons are good but (re)creating a mode that nobody cared for years ago and arguably doing it worse is a massive waste of development time.
