Skill issue.
>Marksman focus is bad
Skill issue.
lol
lmao, even
I did it with the Braced Autogun and the skill that gives focus stacks when crouching. Good luck :/
And I just stayed crouched as much as possible.
You can movie pretty effectively while crouched in combat if you use the dodge slide.
After a while, it was fun to see how much of the fights I could do while not standing up.
Picked up the one that gives/preserves stacks so I can at least hopefully just stand still and plink things, might swap to an autogun or something because I found the lasgun has enough spread even when aimed to not consistently hit heads past close range, where I really don't want a no damage no stagger gun out.
Don't use the Recon Lasgun with Marksman Focus. The best thing about the Recon Lasgun is how accurate it is when you're moving. With Marksman Focus the entire point is to stand still and not move.
You want to use a Headhunter Autogun (Vigilant Autogun) or an Infantry Lasgun with Marksman Focus. To easily farm the kills use it with Executioner's Stance during a shootout with a large number of enemy shooters. One shot the shooters with headshots. Repeat over and over again until achievement is completed.
I did this pretty recently just with a Recon Lasgun build (they are really good, but you have to build properly). Some people say the non-crab node is better, that gives more stacks, but I had terribly luck with that one. I had much better luck with the crab node, waddling around and shooting a bunch. Was pretty easily getting 250-400 kills towards the penance each game once I made that change.
The penance only needs kills at 10+ stacks, not weakshot kills. It's super easy to waddle around a little and just unload a Recon Lasgun with the ammo economy it has when properly talented to rack up a couple hundred kills per match.
EDIT: You can also get those kills with melee weapons, they don't even have to be ranged kills.
Yeah Recon Las is bad for headshots but it's great for farming the kills once you waddle your way to 10 stacks from Camouflage.
You're getting ZERO value out of the capstone if you try and farm the kills this way. No wonder people think it sucks if this is how they are using it.
If you aren't aiming for headshots, there's zero point in using the capstone. You're better off using Weapon's Specialist for the Recon Lasgun because of the Brittleness stacks anyway.
- take skill that gives focus stacks when crouching
- take power sword
- crouch to have max stack and not loosing them and slice heretics with sword (it counts)
- you can still use dashes
- profit
I am grinding a penance. I am asking for advice on how to grind the penance as quickly as possible. If mag dumping into walker center of mass while crouched does that, then it's good advice. Weapon Specialist isn't Marksman's Focus, so telling me that it's a better pick for mag dumping hordes isn't useful, because I can't get my Marksman's Focus penance without having Marksman's Focus.
I hope that clears up why Zsrai has been extremely informative to what I'm trying to accomplish, and you have mostly not been. If you have any ideas on how to get better kill density while using Marksman's Focus than what they've suggested, I'm welcome to hear it.
Just use the Capstone the way it's intended and you'll farm the kills for it without even trying. You're intentionally making the grind worse for yourself by choosing this method because you're intentionally building yourself in a way that makes you less effective at the game just so you can maybe farm the penance faster.
This is why the penance isn't marked as a "kill X number in Y seconds" it's literally just an X number of kills. You can get them anyway you want. Doing it the way he's describing will just make sure you'll be asking your team to actually carry you through the mission the entire time you're doing it.
Just go load up a high density Malice mission and farm a horde afk in a corner with a Power Sword if you want to farm the kills this way. That's the easiest and most brainless way to do it.
Dum Dum
Forget the other Penance Name, that stacks damage on close range kill
Wait for a horde, unload on head height.
Should take you around 10 Damnation games at max, if you struggle with armor take ...... how do you even struggle with Armor on a Veteran, you got the Duel Sword, Power Sword and the Emperor blessed Knife.
