Does this game scale difficulty to player count?
ie. if you have 3 human players, does it add a 4th as a bot or do you just go as 3 and it scales for that? IIRC Vermintide 2 would add bots if it didn't find humans and they would be terrible, which made it hard to play if not in a full human party...

Yes the game fill in the empty slots wit bots until someone join the game.
Just don't expect too much from the bots

Thanks. Couple more questions:

1. Does this have a FoV slider? If so how high does it go?

2. If it has headbob/screen shake, can you disable them?

Vermintide 2 addressed both of these issues so hopefully this one does as well.

80 to 100.
no shakes - you can disable em

Thanks, purchased. Had some frame drops on max settings with raytracing off, but I think it's cuz I was hitting my VRAM limit (3070 so 8gb). Dropped extreme settings to high and seems fine now.

If anything I run the game on high with lower global illumination and volumetric fog, the rest of the settings are on high.
Run pretty smoothly on a 3060 12gb

Doesn't seem to have great balance mission-to-mission. One quickplay mission we dominate no issues, next one we get to the end and it seems impossible. And not high level people getting in group with us when we have an easy run. Also having to choose between a 4th as a random player or bot, instead of scaling to group size, sucks, cuz we've had someone join and AFK most of the match, or just stand there blocking doing nothing else. And bots aren't much better than that, so don't want to go always private and always have 4th as a bot.

The game adjusts difficulty dynamically during play based on how well you are doing. This adjustment is designed to push and pressure you, particularly towards the end of the mission.

Is it designed for you to typically fail missions while levelling, even on the lowest difficulty? I believe I've done 4 missions now and have failed 2 at the end.

The bots are ....... horrible.

Nope. You basically just need to learn to play better.
I suggest to watch a few YT video guides, that will probably increase your survivability massively.

The game's tutorial is basically... non-existent.

Oh, and despite what everyone else said here, the game does NOT scale difficulty based on the number of real players.

So it will be massively more difficult to play alone with 3 bots vs full team of players, because in both cases the game difficulty is the same, but bots suck.

That's not typical, very rare to see this. Kick that player.

That's not the missions, that is who you are playing with. Skill level (how well you play) is the most important part. So the exact same mission can range from being a cakewalk to people getting downed/dying every few minutes/failing entirely, depending on the team.

We had a mission where at the end, we used a medical station and it cleared corruption, then immediately accrued 50% corruption again. Is this part of that map or is something else going on?

Top right of your screen will say if someone picked a grim up, also under player names you'll see a book icon. if you're holding it you can destroy it by holding the interact key.

The Tide games are extremely skill based, the reason one game feels easy and the next feels impossible is likely because you had a skilled teammate or two wrecking house when it felt easy, and a group of noobs when it felt impossible.
