Cross Save
Okay, I know the game does not have Cross Save according to Google. But I remember reading somewhere on Fatshark that if you contact the Devs directly, they MIGHT migrate your save over?

Anyone ever had luck with this?

Looking to get the game on Steam because I don't like the Microsoft Platform.

I came to the discussions for this very question. The games been out how long now and there's STILL no cross save between platforms?!?!? Why am I not shocked. FS has got to be one of the WORST, most OUT OF TOUCH devs in the industry. Just wow. I wanted to migrate my save over from MS, but I guess that'll be another 5yrs of waiting, minimum, with how horrendously slow they are to do....anything.

WHy would there be cross save?
Made the mistake of buying it on a platform you dislike? Tough luck be smarter with your purchase.

Modern gamers really want useless features...

There are players who have friends on other platforms, so they buy it there to join them. Other scenarios I can think of - maybe someone who played the game on console decided to eventually build a gaming PC and want to transfer their progress, or vice versa. I think crossplay and being able to share the progress on different platforms is a good thing, just like cloud allows you to have your save on different PC's and the Deck.

There's crossplatform without restrictions in the game.

I play the game for free on Game Pass.

So actually I would be doing the Devs a favour by purchasing a copy on Steam, where in reality I play it for free on Game Pass.

But now I can't purchase it on Steam because there is no Cross Save. Hence why I asked who had any luck with transferring saves before?

Useless? While I agree with you that getting it on other platforms is a mistake, modern gamers also have more options than there used to be. It kind of makes sense that cross platform and platform linking would be a thing in modern gaming, especially since these characters are saved on Fatshark's servers.
sony makes this VERY ANNNOYING by all accounts and fatshark likes to skip annoying things they don't HAVE to do.

Both of these. I played it for a bit on Gamepass and now I no longer have or want Gamepass. It's not unreasonable to expect a dev to put in a modern QOL option. The save that I have over on my PC Gamepass shouldnt be locked behind a wall when the Steam version is basically the same thing. It's just lazy dev'ing, which they're widely known for.

If you really want the game on Steam then starting over isn't nearly as painful as it used to be. All of the skills you've learned will be intact plus, mastery and character EXP comes quick.

Or submit a ticked on Fatshark's site and they might help you transfer your stuff over.

It's not about my character saves as much as it's about all the cosmetic unlocks I have. I stupidly dumped some actual money into it back when I still played on Gamepass, and I'd like that to not go to waste because a company is too lazy and incompetent to allow those to come over to any other platform.

I don't mind starting my Character over ... but the Mastery? Oh hell no
