Are there any downsides to using nexusmods for Darktide?
Or where can I get any other good mods?

Not sure what you consider a downside? I believe mostly everyone use Nexus Mods.

Achievements or penances being deactivated
More Instability than can be usually expected
Better mods somewhere else (I am mostly familiar with nexus)

Having mods doesn't lock any progression. Mods are usually stable enough to survive multiple content patches since most don't touch any stats or assets that change and are more QoL additions. All you usually need to do per patch is just toggle them back on.

They’re fair game, but honestly I can’t be bothered. All the hud mods look ugly and the scoreboard has way too much clutter for my taste.

I think the only downside is just like in Vermintide, some mods stop progression.

essentially none.

1: You'll realize how much QoL Fatshark has skipped out on and refuse to implement. That can annoy you.

2: Mods will increase your enjoyment of the game, resulting in more hours played. Maybe too many hours played.

Beyond those two points? Not really. :cool_seagull:

QoL mods are good, but some people pretend it’s QoL when in fact it’s cheating

some. for example encountering a bad server while running "psych ward" will result in an endless reconnect loop, forcing you to alt f4.

some mods are discord/github based and are simply unavailable on nexus. for example "for the drip".

Psych Ward - access matches and vendors from character select.
Disconnect - brings you back to character select from any point in the game.

Are probably the most essential mods. You'll never have to load the Morningstar again.
