Killshot Ready penance with melee
I need confirmation from players who are 15 bazillions hours in this game.
Can you complete the Killshot Ready cancer penance by using Marksman Focus + Camouflage, wait for your stacks to reach 10 when a horde comes in and then just swing at it?
I noticed I keep my stacks, even if I evade while crouching. Maybe I'm wrong but checking on my progress, it seems to work. And it seems way faster than doing it using a gun.

This penance is so badly designed you can read the entire Horus heresy novels series and finish it before you're done with Killshot Ready.
So can it be cheesed using Camouflage + melee? That'd be one hell of time saver.

Vet penance? Where you doing it at best in crouching? Just crouch and kill hordes. Then you generate stacks and then you make kills with stacks. How much kills do you need? 2000? I forgot
Well I can confirm it does work.
Killshot Ready penance requires you to get 2500 kills while at 10 stacks of Marskman Focus.
It's a ridiculous time sink. That is, if you try to do it the "intended way".

If you use the Camouflage perk, Just sit in a corner, wait for hordes to come at you and swing happily at it.

Instead of spending entire months on an untested "challenge" you'll just need a few high intensity low level runs to cheese it.

Ah okay. Good for you if it works. I did it by the intended way but it took me maybe 10 missions. Wasnt that big of a deal and you will get the most penances by just playing the game. The majority of penances are not intended being acquired after a short time. But i understand your impatience.

I'm confused now. I couldn't understand why random vets would shoot while crab-walking everywhere as if the nurgle diarrhea got to them mid-mission and they're stuck serving the emperor with a few extra pounds of chaos corruption sagging in their breeches. But they were just cheesing a penance? These people have no dignity.

This penance involves the most useless milestone in the entire game and the most boring playstyle possible. A playstyle that is also 200% uncompatible with the game's flow and pace. Standing still is a death sentence.
So people are getting upset by a penance forcing them to use a bad milestone and on top of that, having to get a stupidly high amount of kills while the perk is maxxed out.
So people use their brain to get rid of a chore as fast as possible. That way they'll just be useless to a few squads instead of ruining dozens of runs for weeks while farming a stupid penance.

That's all there is to it.

Yeah you can move around and play "normally" while crouched.

Crabwalk to victory with ranged or melee. You can also dodge while crouched without losing stacks with Camouflage perk to help you keep up with the team.

2500 barrel kills can't be farmed so yeah, thats an annoyance. Guess I'm lucky I started playing on day 1 so I got it a few months ago.
About ogryn I didn't start to "farm" his penances yet, he's the next one on my list to complete character penances. I'll see when I get there.
Thanks for the warning tho

Thank you for saying what it is. There's a billion penances I wish people didn't always assume everyone knows their descriptions by heart.

@OP: Do what I did and take plasma & Camouflage with VoC & some toughness regen to make up for your trashy movement. It's ironic since plasma has about the worst synergy with Marksman's Focus of all but that doesn't even matter. The 2500 kill requirement is completely ridiculous for a talent that's specifically intended for precision shooters which do NOT cleave, but hit 1-2 targets at a time. Especially when the best way to even stack the talent if you're not an aiming superstar is via Camouflage, which means you need to move like a slug or crouch down to absolutely destroy any chances of getting good positions or clear lines to those priority specials in the back row.

Like 90%+ of your plasma shots will get *nothing* from MF (they're neither crits nor headshots, and plasma doesn't have much of a crit dmg bonus in the first place). It's a complete waste of talents for that gun. But it'll still cleave right through the sea of trash to kill that group of specials at the end you wouldn't even see had you not tagged them. It will easily net you up to a dozen or more kills per shot with its own power alone. It took me just a few missions to get the penance like this. xD

Tbh I hate playing like this but 2500 precision kills while at max MF stacks? Yeah. The second I saw that I knew that was never gonna happen, and I also knew exactly what I was gonna do about it. Worked like a charm.

Thx for the tip. ;)

EDIT: Could you maybe post a pic of your build?

Try it with a crit + cleave shotgun build, specifically with the shotgun with the wide slug, and get to killing hordes while crab walking during events. That's how I did it.

wide slug ? huh ?

It's not even a difficult penance... you'll just pick it up playing a ranged build.
never said it was. wonder wtf a wide slug is. never heard that in game or real life...
