Audio cutting out... direct storage the issue

had problems with this on a high end machine with nvidia card

seems to be related to direct storage as audio works fine when turing direct storage off according to this post:

I just face the same problem in the past, dont remember well how i fix the issue. But i guess was something about the audio options tab in game options.
