Bolt Pistol And Shock Maul are....disappointing

I'm particularly stunned at how poorly the bolt pistol is performing in my matches. I keep trying to love this thing, but I'm inclined to believe that the regular boltgun is simply better in just about every way that counts.

The devs don't want you enjoying yourself too much, that's why they also removed all the fun chokepoints, and secretly buffed gunners.

I mean, bolt gun is alwasy going to be better, cause you can always mag dump every round into a crowd. Would have been nice if the Bolt Pistol would have had a selector 3 round burst like in that Astartes short film.

Shock maul is fun, you just gotta get used to it. But I'm already having fun with it, would have been nice if the devs had the kind of detail like say, Helldivers, where if you used its alt attack on fully armored foes it cooked them alive. Or on Flamers, it'd set off a chain reaction in the fuel tank causing it to explode.

Wanna know whats disappointing? When you have both barrels of a double barrel shotgun aimed at a sniper from 5 feet away, pull the trigger and he's still standing there...

(arches a brow) Uh huh. "Skill" issue. Lessee...they fire comparable shots (at least, from the data that I can see). Recoil is more severe on the bolt pistol, which limits the rate of fire. The boltgun can also fire full-auto which, while not an ideal waste of ammunition, is helpful in certain situations where something Simply Must Perish Immediately. Also, the ironsights on the standard bolter just seem to be better than those on the bolt pistol.

Head shots for the BP are mandatory,

The agni is straight trash, but the Indig is top tier with double elec proc and +impact.

I agree, been playing with it on my zealot and thought maybe it could replace my zarona for gunner/trapper/bomber/flamer/etc sniping but nope

stability is crap, you need to wait too long between 2 shots and it even affects reloading (have to wait before you can reload)... 3 more rounds per clip won't cut it : I'll be back to zarona as soon as I'm done with the current event

Try using Executioner's Stance with it if you're having trouble with aiming down the sights. (if you're Vet)

Also surgical + deadly accurate blessing combo oneshots all of the specials and gunners.

Agni needs major buffs

Bolt pistol sighting is weird. You don't aim with the sight itself as it shoots above intended. Gotta get used to it's kick atm. It's still needs some adjustments and should be punching enemies better than revolver.

I'm using the Shock Maul and Bolt Pistol on the regular now. They're both great weapons if you bother mastering them.

Bolt Pistol's value is in its very fast draw time, high damage per shot, and high stagger. It's best used as something you whip out, deal a burst of damage, then go back to melee. From my experience, it isn't the best, but not terrible. Maybe could use a bit of a buff, but time will tell.

Shock mauls on the other hand are awesome. They've got really interesting attack patterns, a cool weapon special, and unique blessings. I'm a big fan of them so far.
