Extreme performance issues
I played the game a for few months after release with little to no performance issues at all. Yet as of recently I've returned for a friend and the game is literally unplayable. Enemies walking in straight lines, clipping through scenery, walking vertically into the air. nothing takes damage. everything stutters to the extreme. players teleporting and i take damage from invisible opponents, the only enemy i can actually hurt and see working normally are flamers. Every time i hit an enemy it also causes my game to have colossal frame drops for no reason. Where i could run the game on medium graphics in the past it's completely unbearable on even the lowest.

anyone know what's happening or have a fix i can do myself? cause the performance issues I'm getting are absolutely unnaceptable

There's a few things to try before going the uninstall/reinstall route.

Try:
- Validating files through steam game properties.
- Last patch introduced some stuttering issues due to shaders. If you have just posted this after a single game, give it a few more tries to let the cache fully rebuild.
- In the launcher settings, drop the worker threads count or whatever it's called down a couple from the default.
- If you are using mods, try updating mods that are out of date or toggling mods off and if that fixes things, toggle mods back on and install them a couple at a time until the problem returns and skip those.
- Check/update your GPU drivers.

I have noticed myself the dropped inputs have returned just a bit, but not as bad as it was a few months ago which is due to the servers you are connecting to you. Unfortunately, not much you can do about that. This would also count for things like your attacks doing nothing and the floating/skating enemies. If it's as extreme as you say and nothing seems to work, try a full uninstall/reinstall and see how that goes.

Sounds like a internet/netcode issue. May have something to do with ping between all people in your party. Vermintide 2 does a similar type of thing in high ping environments/connection dropout.

Are you connecting via Wifi or noticing any upload/download stability issues on your end by chance? Not that this is likely a problem on your end but worth checking into. I have noticed a few games since the last round of patch/hotfix where games I joined led to a similar, unplayable experience with floating enemies and lagging out AI. May relate to a D/C from the host server on some level.

In my case I haven't seen this very much in the past couple of weeks but I did have a few games that went like that in the past month. May need to check which servers you are connecting to by default if it is persistent or try joining someone on Discord and creating a private game to see if it runs any differently in that setting if possible.

Also, I assumed you are on Windows, but if you are on Linux, try swapping Proton compatibility layers. After the last patch, I noticed better performance going back to Proton 7 instead of experimental.

Even if you are on Windows, you could try running it through Proton and see if it helps or not. Food for thought.

There hasn't been an update since 30 April.

It's still happening. Though it was acknowledged a while back. They tried to alleviate it by removing music from ambushes, but that just exacerbated the issue. So they returned the music, and we haven't heard anything else about it.

Edit: Assuming you're talking about silent spawns

No. There's an issue when your sound practically stops. Character voice lines are coming through some radio stutter, there's a weird clicking in the background, and the worst of all: all attack cues are silent. You just get entangled in a net by a trapper with no idea that it was standing behind you.

Sounds like ping/network. Make sure you have the correct region selected for match making and the time you're playing is when others in that region would be on.

Numbers are down... may be getting matched somewhere far away depending where you live. *shrug* Ive played some downright degen hours from the eastcoast tho and usually cant notice much. Sometimes, but nothing on the level you're talking about.

Network issue is my guess. Try a respected VPN and see if it still does that.

Did you install the game recently or had it installed since you first played? Could try deleting the darktide folder in AppData\Roaming\Fatshark\ then reinstalling.

Server stability and connection stability were trash yesterday. I played with my friend and he had the same problems. Also other ppl we played with said the same thing. So I think yesterday was something wrong with the service.
