Best classes, best melee and ranged weapons

Hey guys, it has been quite some time since i last played so i wanted to know which classes and which melee and ranged weapons are the best at the moment.

Ranged weapons are in the air right now. Scavenger nerf is huge. Let the dust settle. It's probably still Plasma Gun.

There are a lot of good melee weapons. It's easier to say which ones are less than stellar.

The chain axe is not great. The heavy axes are not great on veteran. Chain swords kinda land as horde management with heavies, which makes their niche compete a little with the base eviscerator, but it's a role enough classes need you still might use one.

Classes are relatively close, but it will be more obvious you suck on veteran and psyker, and Zealot has some easy builds that make them very strong.

"The best" depends upon what you like to play and how. The game is reasonably balanced, and everything "works."

If you are looking to play a hard carry, damage-dealing zealot, the best melee weapons right now are, in no particular order, the combat blades, the Mk VI/VII heavy swords, and the Ironhelm thunderhammer, depending upon whether you are prioritizing mobility (combat blades), clearing mixed hordes (Mk VI/VII heavy swords), or killing hard targets/monsters (Ironhelm). Note that none of these weapons is particularly easy to use. If you want something easier to play but also very effective, then I would look at the Mk XV eviscerator or the Rashad combat axe.

Ranged weapons on zealot are far less important, and there are a lot of strong picks depending upon your build and melee weapon. The Columnus Braced Auto, the bolter, and flamer are my favorites. A lot of people still use the Zarona revolver, but I think that it is one of the more overrated weapons in the game, particularly if you are already taking the throwing knives.

Classes are pretty close. Depends on the play style to be honest. Personally zealot is my least favourite but I’m in the minority for that. Most weapons are viable with the right blessings. The easiest weapons to get the most out of each class I would say are the following.

Veteran: powerswords (with power cycler) chain swords, columnus infantry auto gun, plasma gun.

Zealot: almost any melee weapon to be honest, but especially things like the crusher, heavy sword VII and eviscerator MK5. For ranged Zarona revolver,aquipiina braced auto gun and bolted.

Ogryn: shield is still king of melee. Folding shovels can one shut crushers with right build. For ranged, rumbler with adhesive charge is busted. Grenade gauntlet and kickback for taking out distant specials.

Psyker. For melee either duelling sword 4, or the illsi or Deimos force sword. All four staffs are good, but voidstrike is the best Jack of all trades. The quicker firing laspistol also works on a gunker.

Flamer is good if you take righteous fury to melt armour but it is tricky to use. I tend to run knives with it so I can still take out specials. Definately takes some getting used to.

"If used properly" is just another way of saying that something sucks. Its just bad, end of story. Fatshark classic: release a broken weapon and turn it into a meme weapon with YOLO nerf. If you want AOE for your knife build - use a flame shotgun: better range, better mobility, better ammo economy, you could add even more DoT with flechette+scattershot combo, faster draw time. Short range weapon with no stagger, low damage and terrible ammo economy is a death sentence on Hi shocktroop and auric.

you can build all classes for melee or range but generally ogryn and zealot are very tanky and strongest for melee builds, veteran-psyker have stronger range builds but more fragile

Anything will "melt armour" after zealot ult. Well, almost enything. You cant even kill a single Damnation crusher with a full mag even after Fury of the faitful buff. Its just laughable. Agripinaa Mk VIII Braced Autogun is much better at "melting armour". Use anything you want, but dont come here pretending that flamer is a sleeper S-tier weapon "if you use it properly".

No. I never said it was an S-tier weapon so please don’t straw man. It is a situational weapon with serious drawbacks, but also immense power in certain situations. If you play on auric damnation and turn the corner to see 20 maulers, the flamer with righteous fury is quite literally the only ranged weapon in the game that can kill all 20 in a single clip.

Sure, buddy. "How to get downed in 2 seconds". Flamer cant stagger big targets, they'll kill you before you kill them with your laughable damage on top of awful mobility and 1 million years draw time. And you lunge forward. Yeah.

used properly u can kill infinite amounts of crushers and multiple bosses without them being able to fight back.
