Kitchen knife is now the new meta
Seeing all these people sprint around with a knife while simultaneously avoiding every possible important enemy is getting old. I understand you use the knife for more mobility, I understand that without the knife you would need to acquire actual skill, but come on.

A few months ago I saw maybe one or two people every 20 games using a knife. Now? Every other game has one or two knife users. Just had a game the other night where all 3 of my teammates were using knives and at the end of the mission, the higher level dude was TUTORING the other two on how to use the knife power attacks properly to get more distance by cancelling animations.

Weapon needs to eat a nerf to damage (one/two shotting crushers with a knife shouldn't be possible) or just straight up be removed. I don't think I have ever seen something so utterly broken in comparison to its counterparts. This is a game that involves destroying these massive infested monstrosities and the tool we are given? A combat knife that outperforms every other melee weapon by a significant margin.

Knife is one of (if not THE) easiest weapon in the game ATM.
Near infinite stamina, speed and dodgerange make it super saft tbh.
paired with substantial dmg and "fun and entertaining daggerboiiiii moveset"
ènvoila here you go....
Daggerspam

Only downside is its getting boring pretty soon...
Attackpatterns and the insane... "safety"
Just yawn....

how about dueling sword? 1-2 strikes to crusher (even not in crit build). rev chainsaw 1-2. revolver 1 shot crusher. etc.

I wasn't aware that the Knife one- or two-shots Crushers. How does every class achieve this on every attack?

Posts like this just encourage it really. I only looked it up myself after seeing someone moan about it on these boards and tbh, I do find it pretty fun and can see why others would too. Though, I do imagine it will get old pretty quickly.

There doesn't actually seem to be much in the way of "skill" in this game at all either to be fair. You point and shoot the thing or point and melee the thing.

I do not like knife but love Duelling sword! I play this gun psyker build with it:

I also Chainsword and Zarona on my Vet so I am totally with you!

yeah, dueling sword IV is best solo target weapon in game. you can even one shot mutant or kill 5-7 crushers in 10-15 sec. solo. I like it. gunpsyker <3

also I have about 300 hours on zealot knife builds. dueling sword much stronger then combat blade.

TS, why do u care about others? just play the game and have fun, there are a lot of imba weapons (hi there, my little plasma) that can ownage everything.

A kitchen knife is the most widespread and affordable weapon that does not even require a license.
So nothing surprising, everything is like in life :steamhappy:

This is nothing new. This is ancient history. My block list is full for a reason.

If you're talking about Knife-Zealots specifically it's hardly the knife that makes the character so dummy good against solo-situations

Zealot also suffers from not having as much innate penetration/britte stats that the bleed from the knife is one of the easiest ways to do consistent damage without a built up weapon

Also, why are you getting so mad about it since it's both co-op and you'd like the team to perform at their personal comfort zone no?

Zealot is padded with (melee) bonuses but the Combat Blade should have some Blessings toned down and a Carapace damage reduction.

And now remember all those zealots crying "power sword is op and deserve a nerf" on the early days and if you ask them they will say knife is ok.

Knives do not clear hordes or crowds quickly unless the blessings, perks, and talents are made to do so.

If a seagull could talk out it's ass this post would be the example of it. Knives have always been crazy fun but people tend to not make use of heavies with certain enemy types.
Most people namely zealots go for a left click build into piety. Some people will actually make use of mercy killer on knives to deal with most enemies. Others will use ruthless backstab to be able to one shot crushers from stealth at the back.
I myself am using duelist from the tree, shroudfield and perfectionist into precognition and riposte to have spicier back taps while having a better way to deal with thicker hordes due to the extra finesse, weakspot, crit damage and chance, that comes out of my build.
The knife builds are anything but boring; you are just unfortunately linear about the options you think you have with it.

Atoman Kitchen Knives are apparently blessed by the God Emperor himself for being this overtuned....

I took the Mk VI knoife out for a stroll last night and damn that thing is really, REALLY good on CC. This was on zealot and I would say the heavy-light on horde is better than the heavy sword and that's saying something. I had the uncanny and the one that give power to weakspot hits and that thing slays and it's no where near perfect stat wise

I strongly disagree, sir
