People talking about what to play or how to play in quickplay are noobs that have some weird social issues.
I wouldn't waste my energy arguing with them about anything ...
And since this has become a bit of a psyker circle.... Almost never lose when it's 4 psykers. Or 3 and a tank is probably even better, but still. Probably OP, but I'm here for it!
Gun psyker is best psyker.
There are no fixed classes per team, so a gun on a psyker is no different from a gun on anything else. To say that they are taking away your ammo because they have an alternative is like saying zellies and oggies should be playing melee builds only because they have that alternative too. Or turned around, it's the same as demanding all vets to always bring the ammo aura, or to always focus on ranged only and nothing else. Which, ofc, is exactly what some people are doing too.
The only thing we need to look at is how effective those gunpsykers are. This is what psykers get for those guns with Scrier's, Disrupt destiny, and the other usual talents:
- ~40% crit chance & True Aim, so every 5:th headshot is an autocrit
- Immunity to ranged while firing / hitting something (from crits), which ofc means no suppression / stagger so the shots they fire will hit what they aim at, meaning better ammo economy
- +10-30% dmg & up to 30% crit/headshot dmg from Scrier's
- +15% dmg, +30% crit dmg, +37.5% weakspot dmg from Disrupt Destiny
- Max +20% dmg from Warp Rider
- Plus all all the usual psyker perks like burning down anything near any specials+ they kill including other specials, Assail for some massive ammo efficiency and +35% warp dmg on top of all the above, etc.
- Scrier's easily lasts for ~20-30s, with its buffs lasting another 10s after during its 30s CD. So even on paper it's going to be active over half the time. In practice with the lulls between fights, it's going to be active closer to 66-80% of the time.
- To dumb all that down, at best it's something like this:
- ~40% crit chance
- +65% dmg
- +60% crit dmg
- +67.5% weakspot dmg
- +Assail which gets its own +35% dmg on top
Not even vets can match that. Zealots and oggies? Not even in their dreams. So complaining that gunpsykers are a waste of ammo is not even the same as complaining about literally any ammo class at all. It's actually worse. xDSure, they can be played badly. So can any other class or build. So we get back to square 1. Hating on builds because of a few bad apples just... doesn't make any sense.
I only care what they turned this game into, a competition. It seems that the general idea here is to make more damage than your team mates or not being the lowest damage rather than just , play?
Don't get me even started on how they reduced veteran to. A clown with a gun.
2) Why are you brainbursting regular hordes about to die that I am in melee with?
3) Anyone playing damnation should be able to handle a regular horde themselves, you're not saving anyone by clearing pox walker hordes.
In conclusion, a lot psyker players seem to be psyker mains, meaning they only play psyker and not the other classes, and it's showing.
This is pretty important. When we have someone join our crew, they'll often ask what we want them to bring. Our response is always to take what they're comfortable with and like to play. Nothing else really matters. And whilst we like to use the scoreboard mod, it's more about joking with each other and seeing how much crap we had to deal with than using it to denigrate anyone's performance. It's a co-op game, damage output isn't as important as clearing the map. And there is too much nuance in the game to purely consider kills as the only metric for success.
I have more time in this game than you and the class that sandbags the most games is Psyker.
If i see more than one psyker i leave.
Than again, I'm no WH40K lore vet either, so perhaps there's precedent for that too.
