It's like comparing Skyrim with Final Fantasy, Call of Duty with Counter Strike or LoL with Diablo 4
... meanwhile! In Deep Rock Galactic you can become rich, slap fellow dwarf if he tries to take off a dice trinket, drink as much beer as your gold satchel can allow and of course... Rock and Stone!
Well, i´d say "let them promote as much as they want".
The game sits ATM as a failure (judging by reviews); As it usually happens, it may get up and have "mostly positive" reviews in some months (when fixed), so anyone checking it now will mostly stay away from it until a juicy sale comes out.
For rock and FREEEDOOOMM!!
Actually, I'd quite like to talk about Enshrouded/Palworld/Skull & Bones/ Tekken 8/ Suicide Squad - actually no, not that one.
Third person Shooters aren't me.
But since people mentioned it,
I looked up why it is supposedly not as good as people expected.
Some guys review seemed to be quite factual:
"NEGATIVE -This is a day 1 review-
Big fan of Helldivers 1. I played it for about 100 hrs on steam, and another 100 back on PS4
Let me run down what I dislike about this game.
Strategem and weapon upgrades are gone.
All weapons are as good as they'll ever be. Samples are instead used for permanent ship upgrades, however, it takes a long time. I'm very mixed on permanent, global upgrades in Helldivers, as the "You are as good as your gear" mechanics does feel really nice.
Weapons take forever to unlock.
We're stuck in solo while the game launched broken, so we have to unlock weapons this way too. Each mission is 15-20 minutes, after 4 hrs I unlocked 1 pistol and 2 primaries. They're going to get exponentially harder to unlock from here.
Weapons are less special, more shooty, however, they "made up for it"
In Helldivers 1, lots of weapons got their own elemental upgrades. The Double Barrel had dragonbreath, the Paragon had toxic, and lots of low-cal weapons like the Knight got a bit of AP, or stun.
In Helldivers 2, there is a paid battle pass for a flame version of a different gun. It sucks, bad.
Vehicles are gone too.
No more APC, Tank, Mecha or Bike. It's a shame.
The matchmaking is broken.
I'm not one to really use SOS instant matchmaking but I tried to today many times, on full game servers, to no avail.
It's broken.
The Illuminate are gone.
There's now only two factions, Bugs and cyborgs. This sucks because the illuminate had a harsher stealth and shield based gameplay that led to interesting fights.
Microtransactions are here.
Which sucks. They have paid and free battle pass sections. The paid one has unique elemental guns, as said above.
Finally, the anticheat is very aggressive.
What's here is fun. The shooting feels nice. But there's just too many issues to deal with right now.
Edit: I want to make it clear that all the in mission gameplay is good.
It's VERY good.
The problem is everything else around that in-mission gameplay."
So, even IF I would consider playing that,
I wouldn't buy that right now.....
Yeah well like it or not those are your customers.
Really? So if I wanted a good RTS, Helldivers 2 has me covered?
Oh yeah? How so.
The game is defined as:
Action
Third-Person Shooter
Online Co-Op
Multiplayer
Shooter
Third Person
Co-op
Space
Gore
Violent
Sci-fi
PvE
Difficult
Singleplayer
So how's the base building? Is there a unit limit?
Why do I even bother asking. It isn't an RTS....
