Psyker or Ogryn?
I can't decide between these two i been leveling, I mostly play solo queue with randoms, which one would be better suited for them? For Ogryn I would prefer ranged weapons but I think they are more suited for close range/melee

Both. You have 5 character slots and there's only 4 Operative types. Level both of them. I have 5 level 30's 1 of each operative plus 2 Psykers. I have 2 Psykers because I have them split up as a dedicated Staff Psyker and a dedicated Gun Psyker.

Having more than one character leveled up makes it much easier to acquire currency for Melk's shop since he gives each character 5 weeklies to do. Any blessing you acquire through the crafting system is shared among all of your characters as well all currencies too.

I mean....why choose? You can just go by what you're having the most fun with or in the mood for, and switch it up when needed.

That being said, maybe Ogryn if you're worried about surviving? They're notorious for how tanky they are, and people tend to really appreciate a good Ogryn on the team. But it really depends on your playstyle. Psykers are one of the squishiest but have the most variety in playstyle. Ogryn, kinda the opposite. Do what you like best, it makes little difference in the end.

I would suggest Ogryn, but not for ranged weapons - he has some solid choices, but not as primary weapon - sadly this build got nerfed to the dust.
Ogryn is durable MELEE destroyer, who can ocassionally shoot some annoying distant shooter - the Ogryn's bane :(

Psyker is good too, but for more experienced players, because he is squishy af

Well, try both - you have 5 character slots anyway

For solo que I'd recommend Ogryn with a kickback and a melee weapon that can kill Crushers.

Kickback can deal with any special including long range snipers. Now you can deal with wherever happens

Go ogryn. It will help you learn how to be comfortable in melee. Learning the game as a psyker will give you squishy trauma and melee phobia.

I'd recommend an ogryn with a ripper gun. And I'd also recommend trying as many of their melee weapons as you can to find one you like using. The bull butcher cleaver is especially beginner friendly, for example.

I'm normally a person that focuses on one character in any game that has classes. That being said, I probably spend about equal time on my Psyker and my Ogryn. As sure as I am going back to one of them for one play-style, I eventually swap to the other. They're just such different play-styles.. but if I had to pick one starting out I guess I'd say Ogryn because they'll be a lot more forgiving?

@ OP

Forget meta. Use what your heart says you enjoy. Even if other people deem it bad, tell them to ♥♥♥♥ off and find a way to make it work. I’m sure you will.

Go Ogryn at least. Rumbler + Bull Cleaver III until you get OK at Malice difficulty. Then hang up the cleaver and go Bully Club Mk I or XIX Shovel.

You need one of each class, you will become a better player.

Ogryn will be a much easier learning process, they got mechnaics that really help ease you in, and because they're literally the worst in the game with cover, you'll learn to appreciate that when you go smaller.

Another thing is Ogryns have a higher vantage, so you won't feel QUITE as overwhelmed when you're surrounded. You'll be able to get your barrings easier. Easier visual information on where to move to next.

Along with that calmer less anxious mind as you can observe more, you'll be able to absorb more information about the game, because stress is a little less due to that.

You'll see what your allies are doing, and how they're handling things. What chokes they take or abandon.

Thus far I've created and only started all the classes. Ogryn are survivable tanks. That said, I was getting somewhat bored of their gameplay style (mostly just swing whatever weapon you have with the occasional switch to ranged). Similar with zealot.

Thus far Vet's been my go-to, since it's a nice combination of ranged combat with some close range "in your face" shovel for light mobs.

I LOVE the psyker lore, but I don't quite like the gameplay.

Ultimately - pick whatever you feel is most fun, and don't limit yourself.
