when does wh40k darktide take place?

out of curiosity when does this game place? i know this game takes place after the events of BFG:A2 this much i know but what about games like dawn of war and space marine? i would be very ecstatic if characters like gabriel angelos and admiral spire could make appearances in DT. oh the hilarity that would ensue afterwards...

the events of other games are non-canon unless the two studios talk it out, and i don't think that's in the cards. fatshark likes to include that sort of nonsense though so you could always ask the pepole that did space marine if they're down for working something out.

it would have been cool if all the lore in the other games were canon for the sake of standardization and consistency

Takes place in the Imperium Nihlus at some point after the fall of Cadia. Less than a century, as (I think) it takes Guilliman's Indomitus Crusade about a hundred years to cross the Cicatrix and return to Terra in a round trip.

So anytime between M42.000 and M42.100

and this is why i find lore of any franchise always interesting; there's more going on than you know. right now i am waiting for the next lore video on the youtube channel wizards and warriors regarding the horus heresy. the whole thing in of itself was a series of miscommunications and misunderstandings.

The events of DT, at least according to the Reject banter, unfold during the Indomitus Crusade so more than a few decades ago in the setting.

I think I heard on some lore video the Imperium has multiple calendars. Which is stupid for them to have that but GW put that in place so they didn't have to worry about most dates.

The Imperium does not (for the most part but that gets into chronostrife), but all individual systems do have a local calendar that reflects the local system. It's stupid for that not to be the case since different systems have different planets with different day/night cycles and orbits, not to mention the time bending effects from the warp.
