It's a placeholder system, despite the developers pretending otherwise, so the cap at 80% serves as a stopgap until FS can figure out what they're going to do with the systems.
- Stats cap at 80%
- Base score as in the number of points allocated to stats, max out at 380. Since all weapons have 5 different stats, this means that the stats of a god-roll item max out at 4x 80%, and 1x 60%.
- Note that you need to be level 30 to earn 300+ base score gear.
- The RNG tiers of perks and blessings from upgrading are somewhat based on that base score. Do not waste materials upgrading any gear below 300 base score (as in, something you got below level 30), because they will get a lower tier.
- With curios the blessing caps are 21% hp, 17% toughness, and 3 stamina. But at least a few months ago a curio with 75 rating would still display 3 stamina, when really it was 2. Assuming that's still the case, if you do want stamina curios make sure its rating is at least 76.
- Never trust the base damage on any weapon type. All types have hidden modifiers against different enemies so you should always check the details window per each attack. There are many weapons that may seem to have a similar base damage yet one can be 2-3x stronger against flak, unyielding etc. than the other.
- The above also applies to crits and weakspots. Some weapons barely get 20% more dmg from them, others can double or triple their damage.
- Not all of the stats are obvious. Cleave has always been a bit arbitrary and not always reliable. A high stagger on a gun seems like a good idea, but often makes it worse because it makes the enemies animate instead of standing still for easy headshots. Some weapons have an innately higher crit chance, such as Laspistols with 15% (3x normal) yet it isn't shown anywhere. Crit / finesse stats in general can massively increase the crit chance on some weapons but not on others (or maybe I'm just confusing the names, still). Mobility affects the number of your dodges which is important in high level play, so while many consider it a dump stat, you usually want to keep it above a certain minimum depending on the weapon.
- Plasma and Lasguns including Helbore have variable ammo consumption, so you can't trust their ammo size. Depending on the weapon and firing mode they can consume anything between 1-9 ammo per shot. For example the Accatran Laspistol consumes 2 per shot, the Kantrael takes 3. Helbore II takes 2 per light 4 per charged shot, where Helbore III takes 4 / 9 respectively. Plasma takes 3 / 9. And so on.
There's a lot more to these and many other things, but these should help for now. Darktide is a surprisingly deep and complex game when it comes to gearing, talents and gameplay. And a lot of that information isn't explained anywhere so it's just something people picked up playing or through datamining.Probably going to take them another year. Sad to see this Game is being treated as if on its way to be abandonded already....dozens of Devs with Tencent on their back...im honestly shocked at the thought of how poor their work ethic is and care for their own product + playerbase/consumer. No vision, ambition or anything at all....took them like a year just to implement a skill Tree...now its already again barely holding just around 8k-10k players...
they should just make the game more mod friendly and let the community take care of it if they themself don't do anything at all or we have to wait months for some crumbs a single actually working person could have done in one day
people would be like, "my damage is over 100%!!! that's awesome"
