you can swing a baton, shoot a cannon, throw a nuke. Whatever you want
ogryn good big mate
I thought so too, until I saw that I can only be a male Ogryn. It sucks that I can not Larp as my Grandma during black friday sale, smashing all the Chaos and grabbing all the Plasteel and Diamantine she can get.
This takes me and many other roleplayers out of the game, so an addition would be much appreciated.
Lore wise female ogryns are rarely seen in public.
Nothing prevents you from assuming your Ogryn is a woman. They ain't Twilek where the guys are ugly and the gals super hot. It's much more likely a Tolkin Dwarf situation, where you can't tell if you just met a woman or not.
Based on their body size they don't need large marmal glands the that produce galons of milk per day. As such its unlikely they'd have large "female signifiers".
Canon makes no such distinction, other than Ogryns coming from either Feral Worlds with very Tribal Hirarchies or Prison Worlds.
In both cases the Imperium does not conscript Ogryns in the way they do with other planets, but instead just take on volunteers which get attached to other Imperial Regiments as shooktroops.
I would need see some actual canon source that says female Ogryns are rare. AFAIK this "female ogryns are rare" is coming from a 3rd party Pen & Paper product and with that it's about as accurate as "Termagants are impervious to bolter fire" the Dawn of War series introduced.
He say they are rarely seen, not that they are rare.
