Zealot's flamethrower
I'm interested about giving it a go for a test, but never used it so far. Any advices about what stats to look for and what perks to take ? I'm interested about the amount of damages you can achieve in total by hiting as much targets at once as possible with it and how to optimize it so it can deal a massive amount of total damages in an herd while spending as few ammos as possible doing it.

Blessings: Showstopper & Blaze Away
Perks: Unyielding Enemys & Critical Chance (Range)

Its amazing for Auric but i prefer other guns to get the best out of the class

I run the exact same Flamer. The reasoning is pretty simple: Rager spam is quite prevalent on Auric so Showstopper will generate quite a bit of value. Blaze Away is a fairly natural pick. The Flamer doesn't have that great blessings overall either.

You MUST run Piety (left keystone); the Flamer is a very VERY critical strike dependent weapon. You get almost double the DoT ramp-up from a critical strike, and due to unlimited cleave your crits will stack Piety very fast too.

Strategy is fairly simple: you use it on "quality hordes"; hordes that are mixed with actually dangerous units. Don't use it on just poxwalkers. Don't empty the entire magazine either. Aim for emptying about half of a single magazine and then let the burn damage do the rest. Only against Mauler spam do I sometimes use more.

Funny, I just had the exact same thought using it for the first time, that it was a great way to deal with mixed waves of elites and trashmobs. As you kill trashmobs easy and weaken the elites at the same time.

Yep. The effect of hordes is essentially making dangerous things more dangerous. Unfortunately if you really want to play to maximum efficiency there are better options to deal with quality hordes: just taking out the quality.

Still the Flamer is a very fun weapon and requires some adapting to.

Yeah, I guess there is better options, but I like to have some options to begin with and then make my own choices later. There is no such thing as testing by yourself to really understand what you're doing and why. It also help to understand what others tried to do with their own build and how to adapt to them for teamplay. Now that I understand the purpose of this weapon, I may not use it myself later, as I may find better options, but at least I'll understand what another zealot try to do if I see him with a flamethrower. :)

Choice of perks and blessings are up to you, but I found the flamer a lot more useable when I picked reload speed options for both a perk and a blessing.

everyone already gave some two cents in what blessings and weapon perks to choose, so I'll say this: definitely recommended to pick some skills in the skill tree that boost reload speed. the reload speed is long enough to leave you vulnerable for a long while.

also, space out your bursts with the flamer. spamming the whole mag too quickly will achieve the same results as bursting while also taking a huge toll on your ammo supply. and that thing's ammo economy isn't the worst, mind you, but it's definitely not that good at all.

still, the weapon is amazing and total fun to use.

Just be wary if you get a not particularly cohesive team you can get stuck with no ranged option getting slammed by shooters, which is why I dont run it regularly
