Perks: Unyielding Enemys & Critical Chance (Range)
Its amazing for Auric but i prefer other guns to get the best out of the class
I run the exact same Flamer. The reasoning is pretty simple: Rager spam is quite prevalent on Auric so Showstopper will generate quite a bit of value. Blaze Away is a fairly natural pick. The Flamer doesn't have that great blessings overall either.
You MUST run Piety (left keystone); the Flamer is a very VERY critical strike dependent weapon. You get almost double the DoT ramp-up from a critical strike, and due to unlimited cleave your crits will stack Piety very fast too.
Strategy is fairly simple: you use it on "quality hordes"; hordes that are mixed with actually dangerous units. Don't use it on just poxwalkers. Don't empty the entire magazine either. Aim for emptying about half of a single magazine and then let the burn damage do the rest. Only against Mauler spam do I sometimes use more.
Funny, I just had the exact same thought using it for the first time, that it was a great way to deal with mixed waves of elites and trashmobs. As you kill trashmobs easy and weaken the elites at the same time.
Yep. The effect of hordes is essentially making dangerous things more dangerous. Unfortunately if you really want to play to maximum efficiency there are better options to deal with quality hordes: just taking out the quality.
Still the Flamer is a very fun weapon and requires some adapting to.
y its meta build for flamer :)
also, space out your bursts with the flamer. spamming the whole mag too quickly will achieve the same results as bursting while also taking a huge toll on your ammo supply. and that thing's ammo economy isn't the worst, mind you, but it's definitely not that good at all.
still, the weapon is amazing and total fun to use.
