Rogue Trader
The newly released Rogue Trader game has a Chaos Space Marine boss. I couldn't believe my eyes, I thought that the heckin marines could solo a planet entirely. And my team of chumps killed him (at great cost) but the space marines... even the traitors are, infallible beings of epic proportions...

i am literally crying and pooping right now, i cannot believe some humans killed a chaos space marine, can you imagine if our level 30+ inquisitorial retinue did that? I mean I cant imagine it cause were so weak and pathetic, but like the games getting kinda easy... a new boss would be cool y'know

b-but not a chaos space marine no we cant kill those ever, nope impossible.

I mean... yeah it is, that happens all the time in both rogue trader and inquisitorial retinues. There's rules for it in the respective tabletop games.

50 guardsmen with a few heavy weapons have a good chance to kill an average space marine. Lascannons, meltas, plasmaguns, man bolters all can pen marine armour. Fatshark doesn't want a space marine boss that's it.

The empire only do those "alliances" with xenos when there is no other option, not has something normal like hey you are eldar I'm a sm lets be friends. Also show me how many space marines and sisters of battle do we have on a team on Darktide I'm eager to see the amount.

Where have they said they don't want a CSM boss? If they have then I'm more understanding of it.

But a lot of people have gross misunderstandings of who can do what in this setting, and I've seen some pretty silly takes on how strong a space marine is.

I didn't say they did it regularly (Even if you're ignoring the ongoing thing with the ynnari and the Imperium) I said it's not lore inaccurate that it happens. Nor did I say they are on friendly terms. They absolutely distrust each other.

Nor was I saying add friendly space marines or Sisters, I want a CSM boss. Keep strawmanning me bub.

No, its about CSM in darktide and the silly takes people have for keeping them out. If FS has said they don't want them (I haven't seen that) then I understand.

But the community who doesn't have silly reasons for not wanting them in.

In a magical open battlefield scenario, sure. But a part of what makes SM in the lore so deadly is their training and tactics, so they would simply not fight that fight and kill them all in other ways.

FS has stated that power armor will not be in the game.

So no Space Marines, no Chaos Space Marines, no Sisters of Battle.

Can I actually see what they said? Cause my interpretation of that is WE won't get power armor, which I am fine with.

Not that we won't get bosses with it.
